How to prepare lactulose (Duphlac) rectal enema? 🔸️It must be given via a rectal balloon catheter as a retention enema. 🔸️Mix 300ml of lactulose solution with 700ml of water or normal saline and then retain for 30-60min. 🔸️The dose may be repeated every 4-6 hours, and if evacuated promptly you can repeat it immediately. 🔸️Before stopping the rectal enema, start the oral route.
