If we are to create a stronger conservation movement, we must start with retaining talented leaders who can share solutions with the sector. “...Retaining talent, understanding our different lived experiences, and making space for us to lead is critical to create a more inclusive and stronger conservation movement. I’m rolling up my sleeves and working that much harder with others to create community networks like the Alliance for Indigenous Environmental Stewardship (AIES) where we support people who are working on Indigenous conservation efforts.” — Starlyn Miller, Native Lands Partnership Director, The Wilderness Society. We're committed to protecting our planet and promoting environmental stewardship in health care. That's why this year we launched the Providence Center for Environmental Stewardship, a virtual platform that serves as a central site to share many aspects of our Environmental Stewardship initiative, including our three pillars -- WE ACT (mitigation), We REACH (adaptation & resilience) and We SHARE (advocacy & leadership) along with toolkits and resources to drive change. In service of helping to advance decarbonization, resilience and environmental justice in health care, we hope that sharing our learnings will help other health organizations to make progress in their own environmental stewardship goals. 🌍 Access our toolkits, learn more about our initiatives and join us in the journey towards a greener future: http://ms.spr.ly/6046okycs

Eustacia Jennings shares an inspiring path as she combines her expertise in environmental science with a focus on safety in the workplace. Her journey, driven by passion and personal experience, underscores the importance of having safe and sustainable practices in all work environments. After being pushed into entrepreneurship during a chaotic time, she created Jennings Environmental, Safety and Security Consultants—a move that highlights her commitment to making workplaces safer while addressing environmental concerns. It's powerful to see how her personal journey and the support from her late cousin motivate her daily efforts. Eustacia's vision for a Bahamas association dedicated to safety reflects her passion for community growth and inclusiveness in these crucial conversations. What I find particularly thought-provoking is her approach to overcoming adversity while being an advocate for workplace safety and environmental sustainability. It raises questions about how we can all contribute to safer environments, both in our work and in our communities. I encourage everyone to examine our roles in safety and sustainability efforts, and how our unique experiences can elevate these conversations. How can we work together to foster change for a better tomorrow? https://lnkd.in/e-96f9GC

Something a little different and thought provoking for our April episode. We were delighted to be joined by Clover Hogan, Founder of Force of Nature and we explored activism. Expect to be challenged - and hopefully inspired - by the conversation. Out next Thursday 27th April - subscribe to Planet Possible to be sure to catch it. Context Overview The COP process under the UNFCCC framework has achieved significant milestones, including the Paris Agreement. However, progress often lags behind commitments. COP29 marked a pivotal moment in addressing critical climate issues, including the outcomes of the Global Stock take, the establishment of a robust loss and damage finance mechanism, and accelerated renewable energy deployment. For truly transformative change, action must overcome persistent barriers such as political inertia, equity challenges, and insufficient accountability frameworks. Call to Action Transformation begins with each individual. By uniting collective efforts—across age groups, faiths, and sectors—we can push COP29 from incremental change to bold, transformative action. Together, we can align local and global efforts toward a more sustainable future.
