❗️Here's what we've been doing as Startup Of The Year by The Robot Report We spent the past year working towards our mission - developing sustainable caretakers of the world. 🌎 The first embodiment was our electric robotic lawn mower running and end2end model for mowing, ES-1. No teaching. No setup. No connectivity. An agent that wakes up anywhere, sees tall grass, and makes it shorter. Its as easy as using a leaf blower. 😌 We proceeded to buy landscaping businesses, a novel approach in the robotics space. A total of 4 businesses have been acquired to date 🎉 to give our robots a sandbox to run in. In contrast, many robotics companies currently develop in a lab or only have a single test site which leads to overfitting a model or a brittle SLAM stack. After deploying robots, collecting data across 1000+ sites over 5 months and fine tuning it with the feedback from our data engine, ES-1 morphed into who we call Verdie - an outdoor agent that can take on many embodiments. Verdie appeared as a bipedal robot wielding different power tools ⚒️ We brought Verdie to NVIDIA's #GTC24 and our CTO Michael Laskey gave an insightful talk with Verdie next to him on stage. Verdie also performed live fully autonomous demo's which blew the crowd away 😂 #iykyk Verdie continues to learn through real world usage and simulation and will take on other embodiments in the future! One day, we hope to see millions of robots sustainably caring for our planet in ways that the current human labor market won't allow 🤖 In the not so distant future, you may see Verdie bending down to pluck a weed in a busy park and know that he saved the children around from inhaling toxic weed spraying chemicals. I am glad to announce the publication in the IEEE Robotics & Automation Magazine of the euROBIN project paper derived from the first robotics hackathon organized at the GRVC Robotics Lab in Seville (15-19 May 2023): "Door-to-Door Parcel Delivery from Supply Point to User’s Home with Heterogeneous Robot Team: The euROBIN First-Year Robotics Hackathon": https://lnkd.in/d8DxMvYH The paper presents the development and results from a cooperative logistics task (parcel preparation at supply point, transportation, and unboxing at user's home) carried out completely by eight different robots without direct human intervention in the following order of participation: - Franka Emika FR3 from Sorbonne University (SU), - Centauro from Fondazione Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia (IIT), - Dual Arm Aerial Manipulator from Universidad de Sevilla (USE), - ANYmal on Wheels from Eidgenössische Technische Hochschule Zürich (ETHZ), - Rollin' Justin from the Institute of Robotics and Mechatronics of the German Aerospace Center (DLR), - PAL TIAGo from Instituto Superior Técnico, Universidade de Lisboa (IST), - PAL TIAGo from Institut National de Recherche en Informatique et Automatique (INRIA), - ARMAR 6 from Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) The #hackathon, as a cooperative scenario, covered the three application domains considered in euROBIN (robotic manufacturing for a circular economy; robots for enhanced quality of life and well-being; outdoor robots for sustainable communities), involving several skills of robots with very different morphologies, promoting interactions among them and between the teams participating in this event. Bachelor and Master students, PhD students, postdoctoral and senior researchers, and professors worked together during one week, sharing a common space at the GRVC Indoor Testbed. It's been more than one year and a half, but the impact of this collaboration is still there. Big thanks to all the partners who brought their cool robots and the talent of their teams, to Anibal Ollero and Begoña C. Arrue for their support in the coordination and organization of the event, and to Alin Albu-Schaeffer and Rebecca Schedl-Warpup for coordinating such a great project! The paper is available Open Access thanks to library of the School of Engineers from the Universidad de Sevilla. Video of the experiments: https://lnkd.in/dY77nM68

🎉 Exciting News! 🎉 I am delighted to share that my team has recently been awarded the MAZEX certification by the Robotics Club at IIT BHU for our innovative project - the Navbot. This project is a prototype of a decision-making line-following robot and we are thrilled to receive recognition for our hard work. 🤖 Navbot is a robotic device that runs on the Arduino microcontroller platform. It is a result of our team's dedication and innovation. Navbot is equipped with five infrared sensors that are strategically placed in the front section. These sensors allow the robot to navigate flawlessly by detecting and following black lines. Navbot moves with precision and accuracy towards the intended direction. We have carefully calibrated the hardware to ensure optimal performance, meeting the project's requirements. 🤖 In the realm of programming, we leveraged the Arduino IDE to empower our Navbot with intelligent decision-making capabilities. During the first round of free run, we instructed the bot to memorize its entire path. Then, using sophisticated algorithms, it compared the lengths of each path it took, autonomously selecting the shortest route in the second round. This ingenious approach allowed our Navbot to reach the endpoint swiftly, optimizing efficiency and performance. This journey has been a testament to teamwork, dedication, and relentless pursuit of innovation. While we may not have clinched the first prize, the experience gained and the knowledge acquired are invaluable. I am immensely proud of our team's accomplishments and look forward to continuing our pursuit of excellence in future endeavors. The team Circuit Crushers 1. Abhay Srivastava 2. Abhinaba Chatterjee 3. Abhinav Choudhary 4. Abhinandan Chandra #MAZEXCompetition #Navbot #Arduino #Robotics #Innovation #STEM #DecisionMaking #LineFollowing
