The road to dollars on the asset sheet can be tough or slightly less tough, your choice. Why important? No cash on net income = layoffs, trade & marketing spend elimination, equity dilution, price increases, and reduced r&d/innovation. All of those accelerate negative cycles. When it comes to spend, it's tempting to "ready, fire, aim" and "spray and pray". Come in and spend without context then be forced to get tight and trim healthy spend. Ready, aim, fire. One shot. One hit. Plenty of ammunition left and actually more on the way.

🍕 1000 slices 🍕 As we built Bonobos, we were fueled by Two Bros and their $1 🍕. I couldn’t tell you how many slices I consumed or how many slices the entire team consumed during my 3.5 years there but I'd bet it was more than 1K. Someone would take a company card, head across 6th Ave and grab as many pizzas as they could carry back. We crushed email tickets, 🍕 and usually a few 🍺🍺🍺 along the way. And if it wasn’t answering email tickets, we were processing refunds. Yes, only a few years ago, we had to manually process a refund for each and every return. Teams have it so easy now with all of the simple tools available. And I wouldn’t trade that manual work and that amazing team for anything. When the work was done for the day which might have been getting open tickets to less than 100. Or even getting to inbox zero. We would continue to just hang out in the office or we would head around the corner to Hog Pit (RIP) for the next phase of the day/night. The team we had was top notch, the work was fulfilling and the 🍕🍕🍕 was even more filling! #ecommerce #customerexperience #teamwork
