Nowhere near the legal age on... National Alcohol Screening Day 🍸 Did you know that the very oldest MIRA systems are about 10 years old?? Even our older systems stack up against the competition... In a comparison of MIRA M-3 and competitor 1064 nm Raman and FT-IR systems, all could predict methanol and ethanol content in Pisco samples. In fact, the results indicated that 17 out of 171 (predominantly from small artisanal distilleries) samples failed defined quality standards for Pisco. In this study (https://bit.ly/3Th9R54), 1064 nm had a slight edge, due to fluorescence in the ethanol spectra. [1.1.0]-bicyclobutane derivatives have emerged as useful reagents in radical or polar cyclization reactions. Two articles recently published in ACIE (10.1002/anie.202308606 and 10.1002/anie.202310066) show these reagents react with indoles upon treatment with a Lewis acid (silver or ytterbium salts) to give indoline-fused bicyclo[2.1.1]hexanes. Both reports highlight different regioselectivity, limitations and scope choices, giving a full picture of the distinct reactivity of [1.1.0]-bicyclobutane derivatives depending on their and the indoles’ substitutions patterns. As SpiroChem, we have also worked on the synthesis of such sp2-sp3 fused bicyclo[2.1.1]hexanes derivatives and hope to be able to report these efforts soon! https://lnkd.in/ecUm_KUv #SpiroChem #enablingtechnologies
