When new mothers want to breastfeed (and statistically speaking, most of them do!), are you prepared to help? In order to give the best answers and the best help in the first hours and days of breastfeeding, you really have to understand the whole picture of what's happening for this mother and this baby - generalizations won't do. You'll need to ask the BEST questions. I've got a FREE guide to help you be sure you are getting the information you need to know if you can help or if you'll need to refer them to a trained lactation care provider or a peer lactation support group. We need to do our best to get it right from Day 1 because new mothers want to breastfeed and feed their own milk to their babies. Join me on this journey to improving breastfeeding by improving the First 100 Hours of breastfeeding - mark your calendar for my book coming out on April 2, 2024! #First100Hours #Breastfeeding #HumanMilk #IBCLC #lactationsupport https://lnkd.in/extdJdnK

World Breastfeeding Week is August 1-7, and for Good+, this means highlighting the vital role fathers play in supporting breastfeeding and enhancing family well-being. Studies show that father involvement significantly improves breastfeeding outcomes for nursing mothers and their babies. When fathers contribute by providing nutritious food, creating a supportive breastfeeding environment, and sharing household responsibilities, they can significantly increase their child's likelihood of breastfeeding beyond eight weeks. At Good+, 69% of grantee partners offer breastfeeding education, and all actively engage fathers to benefit families. Through these efforts, Good+ is dedicated to supporting fathers to become better informed caregivers, and reinforcing their essential role in enhancing family well-being. Click the link in bio to learn more about how fathers can be actively engaged in breastfeeding. #BreastfeedingAwarenessWeek #FathersMatter

Sometimes the support you need the most, is the support you didn't think you needed at all. Just because breastfeeding is natural, doesn't mean it's easy! Listen to a no fuss take on breastfeeding from Deidra, an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant, and Owner of @loveontop_lactation. "Breastfeeding is a natural and fundamental aspect of maternal and infant health, but it is not always an instinctive process. Many women encounter challenges, ranging from latch difficulties to concerns about milk supply. IBCLCs serve as valuable resources, offering evidence-based information and personalized assistance to address these issues. By providing guidance on proper latch techniques, positioning, and understanding infant cues, IBCLCs empower women to overcome initial hurdles and establish a successful breastfeeding relationship. One of the key ways IBCLCs empower women is through education. We offer comprehensive information on the benefits of breastfeeding, debunking myths and misinformation that might discourage mothers. They ensure that women are equipped with the knowledge needed to make informed decisions about breastfeeding, emphasizing the short and long-term health advantages for both mother and child. In doing so, IBCLCs contribute to a broader cultural shift towards recognizing and supporting breastfeeding as a normative and essential aspect of motherhood." #TheAladunTree #CLC #VoicesoftheVillage #Lactation #LactationSupport #VillageOfKnowledge #WomenSupportingWomen #CommunityStrength #LactationEducation #IBCLCsupport #BreastfeedingJourney #MilkMatters #NourishWithLove #LactationConsultants #FeedWithConfidence #EmpoweredBreastfeeding #LactationResources #IBCLCCommunity #SupportingMoms #BreastfeedingSupport #NormalizeBreastfeeding #IBCLCinsights #LactationExpertise
