#News 📰 The city of Richmond, US, and its James River are in the spotlight due to recent severe rains in the area. 🌧 These extreme events can overwhelm Richmond’s 150-year-old Combined Sewer Overflow system, emptying untreated waste into creeks and streams. As Virginia’s local news recently showcased, the city tackled the problem by building a treatment plant in the 1970s, which enabled the city to treat its wastewater. But big storms can still overload the plant, so in 2017 they started to use technology to analyze real-time data, provide actionable insights and make justifiable project recommendations that would result in both operational and capital spending improvements. 📖 Learn more about how #XylemVuePoweredbyGoAigua is helping Richmond achieve state mandated combined sewer overflow reductions and meet water quality standards, therefore protecting the residents by leaving a healthier river: https://lnkd.in/dQkkbGMh 📺 Watch the story on Virginia’s local news here: https://lnkd.in/d2bdjpd5 #ByUtilitiesForUtilities #WaterManagement #CaseStudy
