⚡️ #EnphaseEnergy has announced a new do-it-yourself permit plan feature on Solargraf, its cloud-based design, proposal, and permitting software platform for solar installers in the United States. The DIY permitting feature uses artificial intelligence and machine learning to automate the complex solar and battery permitting process. A few months ago, I presented the results of our research at the European Photovoltaic Solar Energy Conference and Exhibition (#EUPVSEC) and showed how our #MATLAB-based tool can be used to allocate irradiance sensors across solar farms. Now, the co-authors Alba Alcañiz Moya, Mathijs van Kouwen, Olindo Isabella, and myself are happy to announce the open-access publication of the methodology and results. Our solution retrieves geometrical, topological and climate information about the solar park and advises an optimum number and placement for irradiance sensors, depending on the user's priorities and purposes (whether it is performance assessment, #energy #forecasting, or power loss analysis). This can support solar engineers and experts during the #design, commissioning, and monitoring of solar parks.
