🚀 Space is for Everyone: Live the Dream 🌌 At Teatro Sanzio, Air Force Colonel and Axiom-3 mission astronaut Walter Villadei inspired young people with his talk about his experience on the International Space Station (ISS). The event, promoted by Regione Marche, Città di Urbino, University of Urbino, Spacewear, and Confindustria Pesaro Urbino, explored the new frontiers of the "New Space Economy." 🌑 New Lunar Horizons Villadei announced bold expectations: returning to the Moon within 5-10 years and creating stable settlements. He also discussed suborbital flights for rapid planetary transportation. "The dream is where we want to go, but humans are always at the center," he said, urging young people to follow this path of research and technological innovation. 🌍 Italy in Space: A Glorious Past Italy celebrates 60 years of space activity, being the third country to launch a satellite. Villadei highlighted the importance of the ISS as a symbol of international diplomacy, a highlight of his journey. 🏭 Entrepreneurial Implications The event also highlighted the entrepreneurial opportunities of the Axiom-3 mission. Companies like Gvm Assistence (telemedicine), Dallara (advanced materials), and Spacewear (Villadei’s spacesuit) demonstrated how Italian innovation contributes to space exploration. 🌟 Space Economy: The Future is Now As stated by Alessandra Baronciani, president of Confindustria Marche Nord, many entrepreneurs see the space economy as the near future. It’s not just about exploring space, but creating innovative content and economic opportunities. #SpaceEconomyMaster #SpaceEconomy #NewSpace #NewSpaceEconomy #SpaceEconomyInstitute #Space

I always say that the benefits of space data applications are global in nature, as satellites orbit the entire planet, covering every continent. Nonetheless, not all continents benefit equally, as the industry is not developed equally around the world, and awareness of the opportunities and benefits of space data are not equally distributed. However, there are several programmes and initiatives to make space a truly global industry, including the upcoming Congreso Espacial Centroamericano #CEC2024 in Guatemala City, from 10-12 September 2024 (all information: cecspace.org) In support of this event, I interviewed Dr. Jaime H. O. of CopernicusLAC Chile and CopernicusLAC Panama Centre, about ways Europe and Latin America can learn from each other in developing truly global space data solutions: #Expandeo #WhereTheMarketMeets #EUspace EARSC Eurisy Katherinne Herrera-Jordan Andres Mora, Ph.D José José Antonio Bagur Nájera Space Communications Alliance SpaceSide

"Analysys Mason’s Space travel and tourism markets, 5th edition #forecasts that more than 100 #commercial #orbital #spaceflights will take place between 2023 and 2033. These #flights will carry more than 450 passengers in total (Figure 1) and will generate over USD19.5 #billion in cumulative #revenue."... "The #ISS will be retired slowly The first assumption is that the ISS will retire slowly. The growing obsolescence of the ISS and the will of the Member States, and mainly NASA, to deorbit it means that retiring the ISS is inevitable, though the retirement date has not yet been set. The transition between using the ISS and using commercial space stations will not be sudden; instead, activity on the ISS will slowly decrease while commercial activity emerges. Government agencies are expected to be the key customers for orbital travel during this transition phase because the average ticket price for an orbital space flight is currently almost USD63 million (Figure 2) and the cost of having crew is almost USD5.2 million per mission."... Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary (non resident) of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta to the Republic of Nauru AND Ambassador-designate (non resident) of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta to the FSM
[18-12-2023 by Freddie del Curatolo] -- "The Minister of Enterprise and Made in Italy, Adolfo Urso, has envisioned for the Luigi Broglio Space Center in Ngomeni (Malindi) a return to the glorious past of space launches of launchers and satellites, after the flight programs were discontinued in 1988. Urso said the government is thinking seriously about it, including as part of the celebrated "Mattei Plan" for Africa. He did so during the opening ceremony of the exhibition "Space Made in Italy. Observation, Exploration, Future and Technology: the Italian Journey from Earth to Cosmos" by the Italian Space Agency. "At present, the base also known as "San Marco" is exclusively engaged in monitoring satellites passing over the equator, but it could once again become the hub of space exploration, not only for our country, but especially for the African continent and nations, first and foremost Kenya, that are looking into space research. "Italy can be a protagonist in the space adventure of the African continent because we think our base in Malindi can become the space base for small satellite constellations of African countries." The idea, according to Urso, is to also create the ideal launch base for the Italian Vega launcher, thus avoiding paying France for the use of the French Guiana base."
