Beginning today, GlobalAustin, in partnership with Meridian, is hosting an #IVLP delegation from Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Iraq, Kuwait, Tunisia, Egypt, Palestinian Territories, and Morocco for a project titled “Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development.” During their time here, the delegation will be impacting the community by: • Observing the effectiveness of the business sector in creating jobs and alleviating poverty worldwide; • Examining the legal and regulatory systems that allow entrepreneurs to flourish, and identify policies that may discourage such enterprises; • Discussing societal barriers facing entrepreneurs, especially women and other disadvantaged groups, and best practices in overcoming these restrictions; and • Exploring various business models, support mechanisms, and innovations such as micro-lending, multi-level marketing, the use of the internet, and others. #ExchangesImpact #ExchangeMatters #IVLPCommunity #IAmDiplomacy #CitizenDiplomacy #PublicDiplomacy

It is crucial to note that in the current context, one of the major priorities of our Heads of State, if not the main priority, is to place youth at the center of development policies. Faced with global challenges and the rapidly evolving economic and social landscape, attention to youth is of paramount importance for the future of our continent. The education and training of young people are essential levers to ensure sustainable growth and shared prosperity in Africa. By investing in quality education and vocational training, we provide young people with the necessary tools to adapt to rapid changes in the labor market and to seize opportunities in an increasingly knowledge-based economy. Entrepreneurship also plays a central role in job creation and fostering innovation. By encouraging entrepreneurship among young people and supporting entrepreneurial initiatives, we promote the creation of new businesses and jobs, while energizing the African economy. By placing youth, education, training, entrepreneurship, and youth and women’s employment at the heart of our priorities, we can build a prosperous and sovereign Africa. By empowering young people to realize their full potential, we strengthen the resilience of our societies in the face of global challenges and contribute to shaping a promising future for Africa and the world. The AU Agenda 2063 is a blueprint for Africa. It encapsulates not only Africa’s aspirations for the future but also identifies programs designed to boost the continent’s economic growth and development. The seven aspirations of the agenda include a high standard of living, healthy citizens, quality education, transformed economies and jobs, modern agriculture, a blue economy, and environmentally sustainable and resilient economies. Achieving these aspirations will bring Africa closer to realizing its vision. The agenda operates on a 10-year plan, allowing for periodic evaluations and necessary adjustments every decade. This is my first time participating in and learning about the African Agenda 2063, and I am grateful to AIIDEV for this opportunity. #aiidevafrica #africa #african #africans #ourafrica #blueprint #2063 #2063agenda #africa2063 #africa2063agenda #africa2063developmentagenda

As an Africans, we have alot to do in order to move African continent forward because our leadership remains resolute in commitment, determination and consistency towards fostering integration and development across Africa. I believe it is time for African leaders to tell themselves the truth in order for them to unite towards rebuilding the continent for a better future and for the generations that will come after. Following the AfCFTA agreement, that aimed at providing broader and deeper economic integration across the continent as well as attract investment, boost trade, provide better jobs, reduce poverty and increase shared prosperity in Africa, if this is what it truly means; there should be a total maximum cooperation across African countries through introducing a policy for the facilitation of visa-free entry for all African citizens travelling within Africa. And I believe a United Single African currency for all her citizens, must be looked into for proper consideration towards the continent. And this alignment would facilitate the hitherto hindered movement of African citizens, in fostering wealth creation in the continent. And it will also directly foster engagements in promoting free trade, unrestricted movement of people, and free exchange of goods and services within the continent. Therefore, my advice for the African leaders is they should serve as good positive example to the next generation because their actions today will determine their future actions tomorrow in order for them to learn a positive change from them towards doing the right thing as a result of their positive actions. ©️Hussain Hamzah #adcnsa #diasporaborn #africanmade #adccci

On Sunday, 19 May 2024, our Executive Chairman joined other partners of BADEA - Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa to launch the 50th anniversary of the second most funded Africa-focused DFI. The event took place at the Fairmont Hotel, Riyadh. Africa Prosperity Network (APN) is pleased to have BADEA as a strategic partner for Africa Prosperity Dialogues 2025. The theme for APD 2025: “Delivering Prosperity Through Infrastructure - Invest. Integrate. Connect.”, resonates aptly with BADEA 2030 (A Strategic Framework for Arab-Africa Cooperation and Shared Prosperity), which focuses on both enablers and boosters of intra-Africa trade through a number of instruments for both the public and private sectors. BADEA 2030 seeks to reduce gaps in trade-enabling infrastructure across Africa. This will make a great contribution to the success of the AfCFTA, which is principally to facilitate free movement of people, goods and services across Africa’s 55 states and 1.4 billion citizens. Seen here in the picture are Dr Sidi Ould Tah, President of BADEA, and Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko, Executive Chairman, APN. #AfCFTA #apd2025 #Agenda2063 #AfricaProsperityDialogues

🌍 Excited to Support the #IAMSAHEL Campaign! 🌍 Today, I had the privilege of attending the virtual media launch of the UNDP’s #IAMSAHEL campaign. This initiative is a game-changer for the Sahel region, highlighting the incredible resilience, innovation, and potential of Sahelians. The campaign, backed by UNDP’s $3.6 billion @Sahel Offer, focuses on Governance, Energy, and Youth, aiming to transform the region and unlock its vast opportunities. I wholeheartedly support this campaign and believe in the power of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) Secretariat as a tool for the Sahel region, Ethiopia, and other African countries to facilitate free trade, driving economic growth and prosperity across the continent. Let’s invest in the Sahel and harness its potential for a brighter future! 🌟 #UNDP #Sahel #Innovation #Investment #AfCFTA #EconomicGrowth #Ethiopia #Africa #Resilience #Transformation #YouthEmpowerment #SustainableDevelopment #Governance #RenewableEnergy #EconomicProsperity #InclusiveGrowth #RegionalDevelopment #TradeFacilitation #AfricaRising #CommunityEmpowerment #FutureProofing #SahelPotential #InvestmentOpportunities #GlobalPartnerships #EconomicTransformation #DevelopmentGoals #Empowerment #InnovationInAfrica #SahelInnovation #UNDPInitiative #EconomicDevelopment #TradeOpportunities #AfricaTrade #SahelRegion #EconomicIntegration #Prosperity #SustainableGrowth #YouthLeadership #EnergyTransition #GovernanceReform #InvestmentInAfrica #SahelResilience #EconomicOpportunities #AfricaUnity #SahelTransformation #FutureGrowth #EconomicPotential #SahelFuture #InvestmentInSahel

Trade Law, Policy & Compliance || Trade Facilitation || Trade Finance || AfCFTA || M&A|| Competition || MSMEs
It’s Africa’s Day!!! Sighs. I know you have a lot to say on the many challenges that continue to hinder our continent’s progress. I also do. Recently, I came across a video of how the richest man in Africa needs about 35 visas to travel across the continent. This stark reality highlights the immense barriers we face in achieving true unity and integration. The issue of free movement remains a significant concern, with our borders often serving as barriers rather than bridges. The African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) aims to facilitate the movement of capital and persons across the continent. Unfortunately, the Free Movement of Persons Protocol that should work hand in hand with the AfCFTA has not been given as much attention. This raises questions about the viability of our integration efforts. Just a few days ago, I went through the Abuja Treaty (The Treaty Establishing the African Economic Community) which outlines Africa’s ambitious goals for continental integration. While the treaty articulates a promising vision in theory, its implementation has been fraught with a plethora of challenges like political will and commitment, bureaucratic hurdles, economic disparities, security concerns, institutional weakness and corruption, trade barriers, including the deep-seated issue of trust. However, despite these obstacles, I remain hopeful, particularly in Africa’s youth. When I interact with young Africans, I see the shared spirit of optimism and determination to persevere against all odds. I believe that even in the darkest of tunnels, a beacon of light awaits us at the end. This motivates me to continue on this journey to an integrated, prosperous and peaceful Africa, driven by its own citizens and representing a dynamic force in global arena. An Africa that you and I can be proud of. Tujenge Afrika Pamoja Let’s build Africa together. Happy Africa’s Day! #africasday #integratedafrica #afcfta
