Our target group includes international students from Aarhus University’s English-taught programs in fields such as Language, Culture, Anthropology, Business, Economics, Data Science, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Statistics, IT, and Engineering.   🚀 Why participate? Participating in the job fair is free of charge for both students and companies. However, registration is required, and spots are limited to 30 companies, so be sure to sign up before September 18th. A week back, I had 3 presentations in a week which another challenging week speaking to Young Leaders across Africa in the Africa Innovate 2024 plus another exciting experience Sharing my knowledge with the students of the Federal University of Petroleum Resources Effurun FUPRE in an Amazing Career Fair Organized By the Nigerian Society of Chemical Engineers FUPRE student Chapter on the theme “Exploring Opportunities in the Career World: The Engineering, Entrepreneurship, and Technology Approach” and another great Career Fair that was organized by SPE FUPRE on the theme “Understanding Industry Trends”. Last month on 9th March I attended the second edition of The French Study and Job Fair in Kampala, whose theme was “Mobility and Opportunities between Uganda and France ''. The event aimed at promoting development and prosperity through collaborative initiatives in education and employment. Key Takeaways from the event: 1. Oumou Diakite, Head of the Delegation emphasized that France presents a viable option for international students seeking quality education. We are aiming to increase international student enrollment, with a target of 500,000 students by 2027. 2. Oumou Diakite further stated that being an international student in France allows you many things since you have the same rights, facilities, and possibilities as a French student. 3. Thomas Pelletier, President of the Kampala Business Club, highlighted that French companies are recruiting and that there were many job opportunities, internship programs, and graduate training initiatives available through the fair. 4. Pelletier further noted “Study what you love and feel passionate about. Your genuine interest will drive excellence and align with your personality and goals. Don’t choose based solely on job prospects, focus on where you see yourself in the long term for better employment opportunities.” 5. Xavier Sticker, French Ambassador to Uganda, stressed that the French education system offers a significant advantage for those considering studying abroad, as it is relatively more affordable. This is due to the high level of subsidization in France, resulting in lower costs compared to many other countries where Ugandan students typically choose to study from. PNG Core to Connect Students to Labour Market at Inaugural Career Fair:  The Papua New Guinea Chamber of Resources and Energy (PNG Core) is set to connect students to the labour market through the inaugural PNG Resources Weeks Career Fair, says president Anthony Smare. The event is scheduled to take place on July 3-4 at the University of Papua New Guinea in Port Moresby. PNG Core will host the career fair in partnership with Win PNG, ExxonMobil, TotalEnergies, and Kumul Petroleum Holdings Limited. "This event aims to facilitate connections between students from key higher education institutions in Port Moresby with potential employers, provide valuable resources for career development, and encourage networking opportunities," Smare stated. The targeted participants for the fair are third and fourth-year students from various institutions, including the Pacific Adventist University, Institute of Business Studies University, Australia Pacific Training Coalition, Port Moresby Technical School, Divine Word University - Port Moresby Campus, Don Bosco Technological Institute, PNG Institute of Banking and Business Management, and the University of Papua New Guinea. "The fair will serve as a platform for students to engage with industry professionals, graduates, and employers," Smare added. "Participants can expect career talks covering topics such as resume writing, interview skills, and industry trends." This is the first time PNG Core has included this feature in its conference program, allowing industry professionals to share their experiences, success stories, and insights on job searching and industry expectations for the next generation of workers and professionals. Smare emphasized PNG Core's vision of nation-building by including educational institutions in non-mining sectors, such as tourism and hospitality, business, and technical colleges, in the career fair. "This move aims to further strengthen our vision by creating a platform that connects the labour market, which comprises our membership, with potential future employees (students)," he explained.
