🤔Interesting & compelling #advertisement imo advocating for #fairness & #safety in #girls & #womens #sports . #xx #xy It will be interesting to see the #nike response, if any. And also how long this post will last before being #censored 🤐 by the #lgbt & #dei powers that are against such fairness & safety for girls & women. 🏃♀️⛹️♀️⚽️🏐🥊

**FITTING IN VS BELONGING** This resonated with me today. In a workplace setting, I think the reality is more nuanced than 'fitting in OR belonging'. Many of us exercise little choice over our immediate team colleagues at work, and there is the role that common interest (like team purpose, goals, or objectives) plays. So it's a complex interplay between the two. I'd say we negotiate fitting in and belonging from day to day, scene to scene. It also speaks to a question that fascinates me about how people handle 'difference' at work. Some revel in their individuality; others seek to minimise it. Brene Brown's work leads us towards the possibility that vulnerability plays a big part. The more vulnerable we feel about an aspect of ourselves, the more we (consciously or otherwise) seek to minimise its impact. All of this points to the fundamental importance of psychological safety in teams. In Tim Clark's words, creating an environment of 'rewarded vulnerability'. Where it is not emotionally expensive to be you. Leaders create this space, and we create it for each other in every group or team we spend time in. Making the choice to create safety is an everyday habit we can adopt.

What's the difference between fitting in and true belonging? Hint: one is a form of self-betrayal. Powerful stuff from Brené Brown. #belonging #inclusion

Each time I happen to come across these 90 seconds, #intersectionality is what comes to mind. - Serena Williams : woman of colour - Ibtihaj Muhammad: woman of religiously targeted community - Caster Semenya : woman of colour and gender diverse community - Tatyana McFadden : woman of disability [& many more] This advertisement surely is a multi-dimensional representation of various social identities [choosing not to highlight what din't work for the brand ~ maybe for another post]. Relate it to the workplace : - age + gender - gender + economic standing - gender identity + nationality - gender identity + race - age + marital status - gender + marital status - gender + parental choice [& plenty more] Non-consideration of #intersectionalities is amongst the top reasons behind project & strategic objectives not being met. Decision-making based simply on the experiences of different broadly categorized groups does not suffice. It is also about how individuals within the same group experience the workplace differently. #DEI #intersectionality #inclusion #belonging #NIKE

A reminder today in 2024 that many women in many parts of the world and in our neighborhoods and homes aren’t free to speak our minds, dress, soothe our spirits, and do business as we choose. We took time today in a business expansion and export planning session, here in Quebec, Canada, to talk about what gender equality means for different people in different regions of the world. One colleague shared how women in India have often had more words than action from the men who should be their peers and allies. Others talked of how people who don’t identify as binary face danger. We all share certain experiences. I am in business management. That’s my main work. This is a list of what it can look like to change our business culture to one that aligns with human and natural needs. When I am facilitating, it means: - making time for conversations about oppresive systemic effects - making choices on what to do about it (for example, we don’t do business with people who are nasty to one us or to others) - making space for people to express their whole experience - assuming that when we disagree with someone’s take on their own reality, we’re actually just not understanding enough yet - assuming that people are of good will That last one is sometimes a challenge, and should not be abused. But it let’s people shine through. - it’s nice to talk about it with your fellows. 🙏 🎶🎵🎶🎼 Dolly Parton and Friends: “9 to 5”: https://lnkd.in/d6XRfZuR Dolly Parton on becoming a business magnate: ‘I only do things that I believe in and can sell with conviction’ : https://lnkd.in/du2ptp-P

In the latest episode of #TeamsOfMen "We Read It So You Can Act On It" I shared with coaches/parents/male athletes 5 things they can do TODAY with their teams to be part of the solution to gender violence. Based on our deep diving of phenomenal work by #MichaelFlood, we gave coaches proven steps to take to "be about it instead of just talking about it." Snippet below shares specifically where ToM can help you and the WHY we believe this work has to be done in locker rooms across the country.

Disabilities do not define a person’s worth or capabilities. Judging someone based on their disabilities is not only unfair but also overlooks the unique strengths and perspectives they bring to the table. Let’s foster an inclusive environment where everyone is valued for their contributions, not judged by their limitations. #Inclusion #Diversity #Empathy #Leadership #DisabilityAwareness #EmbraceDiversity

Accessible Racing Life. Promoting Motorsport event accessibility and inclusion for people with disabilities. A passionate advocate who champions equal access, diversity and awareness.
Why do you enjoy motorsports so much? Is it the thrill of an adrenaline rush? The fast cars being pushed to their limits, the crowds of people, the smell of burning rubber in the air? Are you completely able bodied? Have you ever stopped to wonder what it’s like for people living with a disability? Have you ever stopped to consider the fact that every day tasks that you take for granted might actually be difficult for people with disabilities? Societies expectations for people with disabilities have created such a negative perception of what it’s like for them to function from day to day. When words like ‘useless’ and ‘pathetic’ are thrown around, they can make an individual feel as though they’re a burden to society. Moreover, these defeatist attitudes can have immeasurable consequences for people living with disability and serve to contribute to severe social isolation. Nobody deserves to be defined by their disability. Nobody deserves to have to live with the stigma attached to this discrimination. Nobody should have to feel ashamed of who they are and what their body represents. We depend on event organisers to make reasonable adjustments so that we too can enjoy Motorsport events. With demand at an all time high, accessibility needs should be at the top of your list when it comes to circuit considerations. It’s time to listen to people with a lived experience. We have voices, we deserve to be heard. Fans who are engaged with their sport, their drivers and their teams create a positive and uplifting atmosphere of unwavering support. #F1 #Accessibility #Inclusion #AusGP #DisabilityAwareness
