Week 1. Passion, Empathy, Organization, Desire. These are the attributes showing that project management is the hidden iceberg behind every project success. "Every member of the project is crucial for its success; like a football team, every player plays a role towards winning the game”. "A good manager listens to colleagues with empathy." "Drive with understanding and never forget the end goal of the project." The first important lesson I've learned is that a good manager is passionate about what they're doing. Just as one might have a hobby they are passionate about, this same enthusiasm should be brought to work. Passion drives commitment, encourages innovation, and inspires teams to do their best. Empathy is key to effective management. Understanding the needs and concerns of colleagues creates a supportive work environment. A manager who approaches situations with empathy builds trust and opens the door to open communication and effective problem-solving. Organization is essential for successful project management. With many tasks, deadlines, and people to manage, organizational skills are crucial. Using tools like 'Wrike' has shown me effective project management practices, helping to prioritize tasks, use resources well, and track progress effectively. Collaboration and teamwork are central to project success. Every member of the project plays a key role, bringing unique skills and perspectives. Just as every piece of a puzzle is important to finish the final image, each team member's contribution is necessary to achieve the project's goals. In my initial interactions, I've seen the power of passion and engagement. A truly passionate person can talk about a project for hours, just like the leader of an orchestra, taking the lead to those around them. This enthusiasm inspires teams to overcome challenges, adapt to changes, and aim for excellence. As I continue my internship, I look forward to applying these important lessons, improving my skills, and contributing to the successful implementation of an ERP system. Each week brought new opportunities to sharpen my project management skills, and I’m excited to share the milestones of my journey: 🗓️ 𝐖𝐞𝐞𝐤 1: Kicked off by creating a Group and Project Charter alongside my teammates, defining roles, responsibilities, and aligning on project objectives. 🗓️ 𝐖𝐞𝐞𝐤 2: Moved on to developing a Complete Project Plan using ASANA, incorporating key elements like milestones, timelines, deliverables, and potential risks. 🗓️ 𝐖𝐞𝐞𝐤 3: Focused on risk management by creating a Risk Mitigation Plan. 🗓️ 𝐖𝐞𝐞𝐤 4: Wrapped up the internship with a Final Presentation, where I showcased all the work done over the last three weeks. 💡 To top it all off, I scored 97 𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐨𝐟 100 in the Internship 360-𝐃𝐞𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐞 𝐄𝐯𝐚𝐥𝐮𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 and was recognized with a 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐫 𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐞𝐫 𝐁𝐚𝐝𝐠𝐞! 🌟 This internship was a fantastic learning journey that strengthened my project management, risk analysis, and teamwork skills. Here's how I would manage my time and prioritize tasks as a supervisor during an internship: 1- Set Clear Goals: I’d define key objectives for myself and my team. 2-Prioritize Tasks: I’d focus on high-impact and time-sensitive tasks first. 3-Delegate Wisely: I’d assign tasks based on team members' strengths. 4-Time Blocking: I’d allocate specific time slots for critical tasks. 5-Regular Check-ins: I’d monitor progress and adjust priorities as needed. 6-Stay Organized: I’d use tools like to-do lists or project management software. 7-Avoid Multitasking: I’d concentrate on one task at a time to maintain quality. 8-Reflect & Adjust: I’d review my day and adjust strategies for continuous improvement.

5 weeks full of great insight's It has been 5 weeks of learning, unlearning, and relearning. On the 2nd of Sept, I started my four weeks internship in project management with Excelerate. That was four weeks packed with so many experiences. We worked on a real time project, on three day Virtual Global experiential learning, which will take place in less than 5 months time. ~Starting from meeting with my team members and being a team lead. to ~Creating a team Charter, where you get to assign roles to your team mates based on there capacity. Outlining your mission statement ,vision statement and the team core values. to ~Creation of project charter, where you you indicate the objective of the project you are managing, the in scope and out of scope together with the milestones. to ~Project scheduling, outlining the days each milestone will take place and the person in charge of the milestone. to ~Creation of Gantt chart, where we indicates how each milestone is dependable on each other. to ~Risk identification, creation of risk register where we outlined the major and minor risks, and there mitigation and contingencies. This internship made understand what project management is really all about. Our internship ended on the 2nd of October, did our team presentation on the 4th of October. Now waiting for our certificate. I can't end this without mentioning the wonderful people I got paired with as team member Esther Ukatu Zainab Muhammad, Winnie, Gloria and Babajide. You guys are the best team.

Before: International student with no work or internship experience. After: Same person, my client landed 3 Interviews & Project Manager job offer. When Veer came to me, he was an international student with zero work experience and countless job rejections. The challenge? He had a master’s degree in Project Management but no practical experience. Employers wouldn’t take a chance on him without industry exposure, and he couldn’t gain experience because no one would hire him. 😨 Here’s what we did - a roadmap: 1. Gained key certifications (CSM, CAPM) to enhance his credibility. 2. Presented a startup founder on how to streamline Project Management. 3. Designed an app for university students to buy, sell, exchange used furniture. 4. Volunteered as PM for a global NGO, managing projects & supporting cause. 5. Pitched business solution to a local business owner to achieve revenue goals. 6. Redefined his on-campus job, focusing on project leadership, such as leading a website enhancement project that boosted student engagement. 👉 None of these were traditional internships, but they strengthened his profile as a "Project Management Consultant" The result? Veer went from rejection to landing 3 interviews and a job offer before graduation. Today, he is leading project across three continents as the youngest team member. 💫 Sometimes, the best experience comes from creating opportunities rather than waiting for them.

From risk identification techniques to risk response planning, I've gained valuable insights into safeguarding project success amidst uncertainties. 📋 Project Scope Management: Delving deep into defining, validating, and controlling project scope, this subject equipped me with the tools to ensure project deliverables align seamlessly with stakeholder expectations. Understanding the importance of scope management has been pivotal in orchestrating projects efficiently. 💼 Foundations of Project Business Analysis: This course laid the groundwork for comprehending the intersection of project management and business analysis. From eliciting requirements to fostering stakeholder engagement, I've honed skills crucial for driving project success while aligning with organizational objectives. As I conclude this quarter, I'm excited to announce my availability for internships and co-op opportunities.
