Periods, a completely natural phenomenon, have had a really hard time being accepted in society. Even in places that are considered to be ‘developed’, period products are not affordable. In a survey conducted by WaterAid in 2022, it was found that nearly 1 in 4 women and girls in the UK struggled to afford period products due to the cost of living crisis. Additionally, 1 in 4 wear period products for longer than they should, risking their health, and over three fifths said if period products were cheaper or more free products were available, it would improve their mental health or wellbeing. While these statistics paint a relatively vivid picture, looking at numbers doesn’t always make it easy to understand how difficult it can sometimes be. Sharing personal experiences, if you’re comfortable doing so, is an incredibly important way to connect with others and build towards a #PeriodFriendlyWorld. We would love to hear about your period journey and connect with you. Do so share your story with us by leaving a comment or sending a message! What struggles did/do you face during your period? What do you do to normalize your period? Are your needs at school or work as someone with a period met? Let’s break the silence of menstruation together. #PeriodFriendlyWorld #MenstrualHygieneDay #MHD2024 #WASHUnited #MHDay2024 #FreePeriods #MenstrualHygiene #MenstrualHealth #RightToEducation

🤝 There is so much power in authentic partnerships: Vogue x Bluemind Foundation. Vogue recently highlighted Bluemind Foundation's fantastic Heal by Hair program, raising awareness around mental health. 💖 The Bluemind Foundation promotes the concept that mental health is health. They work hard to destigmatize mental health in Africa and support those with challenges. It is estimated that over 110 million people are affected by depression, anxiety, and other mental wellness issues. Approximately 60% of people within this group are young women under the age of 25, and 85% don’t have access to treatment, https://lnkd.in/gNCDbJ2C. This is where the Bluemind Foundation’s Heal By Hair program comes in. Thanks to this wonderful initiative, salons in West Africa are providing safe spaces and psychological support to clients, so that hairdressers can direct them to the relevant mental wellness services they require. For Black women, the salon represents a haven for themselves and their hair. We not only go to get our hair done but to also relax, unwind, and chitchat with women like us. Throughout history, Black women’s hair has often been scrutinized, ostracized, and criticized. Often deemed as ‘unattractive’ and ‘unmanageable’, Black women throughout history have been pressured to cover or style their hair according to Western beauty standards, https://lnkd.in/gjGrHSgi. However, with hair salons, Black women can be true to themselves, be heard and understood, find community, and creatively embrace their crown. With the help of Bluemind Foundation, salons in West Africa have become positive places where Black women can find solace and support with their mental health as well as provide healthy inspiration for Black women’s relationship with their hair in the West. Beauty brands have much to benefit from authentically reaching Black women beyond the ethnic hair care aisle at Target. Statistics show that Black women spend 4x more on hair care than white women, with 21% spending more than a quarter of their monthly budget compared to only 5% of white women https://lnkd.in/gTiASYez. This collab amplifies the importance of cultivating spaces to allow Black women to flourish, boost their mental health, and break down the taboos around sensitive topics. ✨ Check it out: https://lnkd.in/g6vnfwT6 #ConsciousAdvertising #mentalhealth #mentalwellness #wellness #selflove #selfcare #safespaces #healthiswealth #blackhair #blackhaircare #haircare #Africa #USA

🙋♂️Men’s Health Matters 🙋♂️Men’s Health Month 🙋♂️Let’s Make It a Priority. #Menspiration It’s time to support our men in Men's Health Month throughout June. → It is an annual observance to raise awareness about the health issues that affect men and encourage them to take proactive steps towards leading a healthy lifestyle. → During Men's Health Month, various activities and events are organised to promote men's health, such as health screenings, educational campaigns and fitness challenges. And of course, mental health. → It serves as an opportunity to highlight the importance of regular check-ups, healthy habits and early detection of health conditions in men. 🔥 Learn from each other. Don’t sit on the sidelines as a cheerleader, GET INVOLVED! 🔥 Before we talk about a topic, I think it’s critical we get to know men! Here’s some mind-blowing facts: 🙋♂️ Men spend almost a year of their lives staring at women, a survey found. 🧔 Men with more masculine faces and employment in the financial or political sectors tend to lie and deceive more in romantic relationships, compared to their peers. 👨🦲 Men with shaved heads are perceived as an inch taller and 13% stronger than men with hair. 🙋♂️ Men have a lower colour perception. 🤦♂️ When nervous or feeling discomfort, men touch their faces. 🙍♂️ Men are more prone to loneliness. 🙋♂️ Men are more attracted to women who possess a bone structure resembling their mothers. This is known as sexual imprinting. 💪 Men's skin are thicker than women's. 🙋♂️ At the start of any romantic relationship, male brains secrete higher levels of a chemical called phenylethylamine (pea). That is why men appear "More in love" than women. 🙋♂️ Men's brain are 10% larger than women's. 😡 Men who express anger are more likely to influence their peers, while the opposite is true for women. 🙋♂️ Men tend to display more risky behavior when there are attractive women nearby. 😮 Male babies can get erection in the womb. 🙋♂️ An average man switches off after just six minutes of chatting with their other half (but pays attention for 15 minutes when talking about sport with his mates). 🙋♀️ It have been scientifically proven that women take 15 days to fall in love, men just 8.2 seconds. 🙋♂️ Men are more inclined to fall in love with women with high-pitched and shrill voice. 🤦♂️ Unfaithful men have lower IQ according to a scientific study. 🤪 Interacting with women, especially women they find extremely attractive, makes men stupid. So, now we have the general gist of men, put in the comments any specific men’s health problems or great tips. We can then cover what you’re looking for. Please post on the subject yourself. Real-life stories or advice men to men can be a huge help but ……. When posting please ALWAYS use the hashtag #Menspiration. YOU NEED to TALK! _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ ♻️ Repost - help make people aware we’re up and running for June. Start posting!

Women may overlook inner health for several reasons: Societal Expectations: Social norms often place high demands on women to fulfill multiple roles—such as caregivers, professionals, and homemakers—leading them to prioritize external responsibilities over personal health. Time Constraints: Juggling work, family, and social obligations can leave little time for self-care, making it challenging to focus on inner health. Prioritizing Others: Women often put the needs of family members or others before their own, leading to neglect of personal well-being. Lack of Awareness: There may be limited education or awareness about the importance of mental and emotional health. Many women are more familiar with physical health practices and may not recognize the signs of inner health issues. Stigma and Guilt: Concerns about judgment or stigma related to mental health, coupled with guilt about taking time for oneself, can discourage women from seeking help or addressing inner health needs. Cultural and Historical Factors: In some cultures, there is a long history of undervaluing women's health needs, leading to ingrained patterns where inner health is not emphasized or supported. Addressing these challenges involves increasing awareness, promoting self-care, and creating supportive environments that encourage women to prioritize their inner health. #MentalHealth #HealthAndBeauty #Beauty #Mindfulness #SelfConfidence #Forskin #ForMalaysianWomen #Hormone #StressProblem #HealthyAging #Anxiety #Stress #StrefulMind #WomenWellness #HealthAndWellness #Malaysia #Singapore #Brunei

People are eager to invest in their well-being. Seven areas of growth in the wellness space in 2024: 1. Women’s health 2. Healthy aging 3. Weight management 4. In-person fitness 5. Gut health 6. Sexual health 7. Sleep Consumers are not just looking for any solution; they want data-backed, accessible products and services that empower them to take control of their health. Interestingly, weight management has seen the most success in the last decade. Weight loss campaigns excel in ads, tapping into the strong motivation many feel to look their best. However, healthy aging remains the most underserved area. As the population ages, this gap presents a golden opportunity for brands and services ready to meet this growing demand. This begs the question: How can we better serve and support the journey of healthy aging?

In January 2024, Men’s Health Magazine published its survey results from it’s Men’s Health State-of-Weight Survey. They found that 1/3 of men were unhappy about their weight. Seventy percent of men in the same survey stated they felt conscious about their bodies. In our society, the focus on body image is typically directed towards women and girls. In reality, people of all genders can have issues with their body image, and this can impact men significantly. #menshealthawareness #healthandwellness #manhood #menshealth https://lnkd.in/epVqsXy7

Women's health encompasses far more than just physical well-being; it embodies a holistic approach to nurturing the mind, body, and spirit. It involves not only the absence of disease but also the pursuit of optimal wellness and vitality. From reproductive health to mental well-being, women's health is a tapestry woven with diverse threads, each essential to the overall picture of vitality. "We have noticed in practices that women tend to be a bit more open about emotional well-being than men. They will open up much easier about their mental state, lack of sleep or hormonal issues so it is much easier to identify related areas of stress such as shoulders or neck or certain areas of the back, whilst men tend to explain their physical pain only and it takes much longer to get to the deeper issues. The physiological differences are very interesting in women and how it affects their health. Anyone else have similar experiences?"
