We were proud to welcome Scotland’s First Minister, John Swinney, to the Port of Nigg as part of the Inverness & Cromarty Firth Green Freeport's efforts to position the Highlands as a leader in the net zero economy. During his visit, the First Minister met with our skilled fabrication team who are actively contributing to major offshore energy projects, and saw firsthand the investments made to position the Port of Nigg as a renewables superhub. As a founding partner of the Green Freeport, we are committed to creating new opportunities, driving innovation, and supporting Scotland’s transition to net zero. With the potential to develop significant job creation and attract major inward investments, the Green Freeport is set to deliver lasting benefits for the Highlands and the UK’s energy future. We’re excited to continue working with our partners to realise this ambition. #NetZero #EnergyTransition #GreenFreeports Calum MacPherson

Australia is set to launch out on a fresh stage of its remarkable offshore wind journey! As little as four years ago there were essentially no offshore wind projects in progress around Australia, but now there are more than 50 projects in the pipeline. We think that Ørsted’s projects in the Gippsland basin, located 50-100km offshore, put them right in the ‘sweet spot’ for offshore helicopter support for planned and unplanned maintenance. Construction support crew change can also be provided via helicopter and we note that offshore AW139s are already active in the region supporting Esso Australia’s operations. We congratulate Ørsted on securing new feasibility licenses for large-scale offshore wind farms off the coast of Victoria State. Last week LCI Analytics MD Steve Robertson urged the aviation industry to address CO2 emissions head-on. We will provide further insights on the steps that we believe the aviation sector can take to support the passage to net zero in Australia and globally. #Australia #Ørsted #offshore #wind #helicopters #netzero
A new dawn for net-zero in Australia! I am thrilled to announce that Ørsted has secured feasibility licences to develop large-scale offshore wind farms off the coast of Gippsland, Victoria. Thank you to the Commonwealth and the Victorian State governments, and all stakeholders, for the great efforts to facilitate this inaugural licence process for offshore wind sites. Ørsted’s far-shore project sites are located more than 50 km off the coast of Gippsland, Victoria. We believe we’ve secured the best possible sites: they are situated beyond the visible eyeline from the shore and benefit from excellent wind conditions. Ørsted will progress the projects with a view to bid in future auctions run by the Victorian government. We will apply our unparalleled expertise to ensure our proposed projects in Victoria deliver reliable, cost-effective renewable energy. With our ‘build, own, and operate’ business model, we plan to create jobs and deliver long-term benefits for communities, the economy, and the environment in Gippsland and beyond. And finally, let me say a huge thank you to all Ørsted colleagues involved in this win! Read the full story here: https://lnkd.in/gK6_nMka @Orsted #Offshorewind #Australia #Gippsland

STRATEGIC INVESTMENTS The Port of Milford Haven is making a series of strategic investments to strengthen its position as the UK’s largest energy port and further expand its diversification across hospitality and tourism and renewable energy thanks to a £40m finance package from HSBC UK. At the Port’s Pembroke Port facility, the funding is being utilised to modernise the historic dockyard to attract developers of marine renewable technologies and their supply chains. The current ambition of 16.5GW of installed floating offshore wind in the Celtic Sea with potential of up to 24GW by 2050 will require over 1,000 turbines to be built, deployed, operated and maintained. With 10 new turbines a month needing to be built for the next 20 years, there is a huge opportunity to anchor the supply chain in Pembrokeshire and create productive, well-paid jobs. Across the business, the Port has also invested in a number of sustainability initiatives including expanding its electric van fleet and installing LED lighting, further driving the business to become Net-Zero ahead of the Government’s target of 2050. #netzero #renewableenergy #renewables #celticsea #EVfleet #floatingoffshorewind #marineenergy Jonathan Chitty Simon Williams https://lnkd.in/eEcQJzz8

I am thrilled to see Grand Chief Simon Pokue's support for the landmark Churchill Falls agreement. This transformative deal marks an important step for Labrador, Canada, and the global green energy movement. Projects like this are critical to advancing the green energy transition, delivering the renewable power needed to produce low-carbon metals, drive sustainable growth, and enable mining projects that prioritize responsible resource development and a greener future. While this is a significant milestone, it is just one step in ensuring that development benefits all stakeholders—from local communities to future generations. Projects like this are part of a larger, collective effort required to drive the global transition to green energy. Labrador stands to gain tremendously—through new jobs, substantial economic investment, and lasting opportunities for communities. This is more than an energy deal; it’s a milestone for sustainability, Indigenous collaboration, and economic progress. #Sustainability #GreenEnergy #IndigenousPartnerships #EconomicDevelopment #Labrador
