We are pleased to share our recent #publication on a series of #KBGsyndrome from #India, featuring in the highly coveted #AJMG , American Journal of Medical Genetics. #ThePurpleGeneClinic is thankful to all the coauthors who helped us manifest this manuscript! Data is the new gold, indeed! The paper not only elucidates the #genotypic and #phenotypic aspects of these individuals, but also shows how #Face2Gene is an #effectivetool for this condition. It also touches upon the concept of #Chromatinopathies, which partly explains why seemingly-different syndromes are recurringly suggested as close differentials of each other on Face2Gene. #Dysmorphology #ArtificialIntelligence #raredisease #orphandisease #GeneticsInIndia #ClinicalGenetics #MolecularGenetics #DataIsGold #CollaborativeWork

🔬 Today, I delved into the fascinating world of Single Nucleotide Polymorphisms (SNPs) and their significance in genetics. SNPs are tiny variations in our DNA that can provide valuable insights into everything from personal traits and disease susceptibility to drug responses. 🌟 Understanding SNPs is crucial for advancements in precision medicine and personalized healthcare, and I'm thrilled to integrate this knowledge into my studies and future projects. 💡🧬 Looking forward to applying this understanding to real-world data and contributing to innovations in genetic research. 🚀 #Stanford #Genetics #SNPs #PrecisionMedicine #DataScience #ContinuousLearning

The field of genetics is relatively recent in the context of the history of medical science. In the Medicine 1.0 era, there was a lack of scientific knowledge. In Medicine 2.0, we addressed infections and injuries but lacked an understanding of chronic diseases, which were then labelled as rare due to the inability to diagnose them. Now, with advancements in the genetic space, we recognise that most of these diseases have a genetic component. Understanding the genetic mechanisms behind diseases allows for the development of early diagnostic tests, new treatments, and interventions to prevent or minimize disease severity. #myth #genetics #rareDiseases #healthString #sugarStringsAi
