Music is a key ingredient of any amazing film or series. It has the power to emotion, depth, and create the right atmosphere to a scene. Overall it can help set the mood and tone of a story. ⚡ However, the most important impact music can have on stories is its ability to emotional connect with audiences. A good and powerful score can help capture viewers in and create a sense of empathy and engagement with the characters and the story. 💛 Music also enhances and sets the moods to the scenes and sequences of a film or series. For example, a fast-paced, upbeat soundtrack or song can add excitement, energy and feeling of adrenaline to an action sequence, while slow, melancholic music can create a sad, dark and reflective mood in a dramatic scene. 🤯 Another way that music impacts movies and series is by creating a sense of unity, and continuity throughout the story. One can create a sound identity for certain characters or moments that can become recurring themes and motifs across the story, allowing different elements to come together in a cohesive way. 🙌🏼 To summarise, the impact of music in films or series cannot be overstated… Music plays a crucial role in the success of any great movie or series. 🎶🦾 At Global, we take you on a musical journey to craft together exceptional, tailor made songs and scoring to elevate the sound of your story and help you inspire your audiences. 🎵 🎥 Get in touch with us to find out more! 🙌🏼 #musiccomposition #music #musicproduction #musicfortv

Wonky Wednesday: music (and noises). Laura and I were talking about music on Monday’s thread. Thought it was a good prompt for this one. So my friend Kimberley had a really cool Saab. One time, when she was sitting at a stop light, An 18-wheeler turned left in front of her. Took the turn too close, and the trailer axles rolled over her hood. She heard the hood crunch, engine break loose and hit the ground. She saw the windshield shatter in slow-motion spider webs. And through the whole thing, she heard George Winston on the CD. What a strange soundtrack! Decades later, anytime she hears George Winston, she has deja vu. And anxiety. I tell you this as a illustration of a couple things about music in branding. First, music is the single best sensory tool for establishing MOOD. Take any piece of video. Drop out the sound. And then ad upbeat, downbeat, happy, jumpy, edgy, lush, moody, romantic, sexy, clownish, scary electronic, acoustic, vocal, orchestral, jazz, blues, country, pop, rock… Zydeco, Celtic, Klezmer The music will completely change the way your audience interprets… The…Very…Same VIDEO. Triumphant, Ironic, Romatic, Visionary, Silly, Satirical, Comforting, Unsettling. Music makes the mood. Here’s a fun experiment we used to do… Roll the visual for The Wizard of Oz… with the sound down. Where it goes from black and white to color, Start Pink Floyd’s “Dark Side of the Moon” album. Uncanny. It’s a different movie! Secondly, music is mnemonic (it triggers memory). Say the alphabet to yourself. I’ll bet you sang it. I’ll bet you pronounced LMNOP as one word. Music is a great tool if you want to place something into your listener’s memory. Imma need to hear your music-driven mood stories. And stuff you remember because of music. What was playing when you got engaged? When you broke up? When you realized you were in love for the first time? #wonkywednesday #music #branding #copywritingtips

Ever wonder why certain videos make you feel a specific way? That’s the magic of music. The right soundtrack doesn’t just fill the silence—it shapes the entire emotional experience. Here’s how: Feeling happy? Pop or Funk tracks with upbeat rhythms and bright melodies bring excitement and joy! Need to evoke sadness? Slow ballads or gentle pianos can turn any scene into a powerful emotional moment. Amping up the intensity? Fast-paced Rock or EDM drives action and keeps the adrenaline flowing! Craving peace? Ambient or Acoustic tunes relax the mind, creating a tranquil atmosphere. Music is the emotional backbone of your video—it sets the tone, guides your audience, and transforms the story. So next time, don’t just pick a song, pick the mood. #MusicInVideos #StorytellingThroughSound #VideoEditing #EmotionInMusic #videoeditors #contentcreators

Music in video is a bit of a contentious topic for us, because if it's the one will that will get our goat, it's having a video ruined by poor music choice. We get it, corporate jingles are bland and inoffensive. Safe. But they don't convey any sort of proper meaning or tone. If you've gone to the trouble to make some video get the absolute most out of it by making sure it hits the right feels so that it doesn't get lost. It's not rocket science, don't overthink it, but if a sequence is suppose to convey a happy, upbeat, optimistic moment, get something high energy and poppy in there. If it's a profound, reflective moment, then you'll want something instrumental that is naturally quiet and patient, and if you want something powerful then chances are you're going to want some epic, cinematic riffs going off in the background. But please, let's keep corporate jingles firmly off the table so we can all start setting the right tone.

Hey Bridge.audio, could you please describe my music? Here's an example of our capabilities in music description with a brand-new track by Justice featuring Kevin Parker. 👇 You can find the YouTube link to the track in the comments if you'd like to check it out. "Neverender," a collaboration between Justice and Tame Impala, is an electro-pop track that weaves a tapestry of electronic textures and reverberated synths to create an ethereal and dreamy soundscape. The song's lyrics delve into themes of regret and disappointment, juxtaposed with elements of love and romance, offering a complex emotional narrative. The artist's voice carries a dynamic range that underscores the introspective nature of the track. The beat programming and up-tempo rhythm invite listeners to a reflective dance, while the build-up of layers adds to the track's hopeful undertones despite its nostalgic leanings. This upcoming feature of Bridge is continually improving and becoming more efficient. It’s incredibly helpful for pitching your music to DSPs, for Sync, Promo, or even assisting artists in presenting their music to labels. Feel free to let me know your thoughts and suggest your track in comment for a feedback. You can also join our Discord server to explore this feature further (link in the comments). I just got an article published in Kill the DJ! Kill the DJ is a digital outlet that explores the future of audio and video. They have some pretty fascinating reads, so be sure to check them out!! My article is titled "Do Bands Create Mind-Melding Hyperbrains?" The following is an excerpt. The full article can be accessed at the link below. "Picture a group of musicians that tour the country annually to sold-out shows. They have a deeply devoted fan base, and many of these fans return night after night. Some even follow the band from one city to the next. Now imagine that when this band performs, it creates a massive hyperbrain, melding the minds of its members with one another and the audience. Surprisingly, this is not the plot of a science fiction B-movie called Night of the Jam Band: Attack of the Mind-Melding Hyperbrain. It is a glimpse into the neuroscience of music." - Click the link to read the full article. https://lnkd.in/eC377M2W

“The more we attempt to persuade people, the more they tend to resist us. But the more we attempt to understand them and create value for them, the more they tend to persuade themselves.” Ron Willingham
I was listening to some "happy" music, well happy music for me which was not quite the same as what the researchers I am about to share define "happy" music as being, when it struck me that perhaps others might find the following also of interest and benefit . . . especially those feeling like they are in a bit of a creative innovation rut. Turns out that listening to "happy" music has been found to stimulate divergent thinking . . . Creativity it seems is fueled by both convergent and divergent thinking . . . convergent - "emphasizes accuracy and logic, and applies conventional search, recognition, and decision-making strategies", whereas divergent thinking - "involves producing multiple answers from available information by making unexpected combinations, recognizing links among remote associates, or transforming information into unexpected forms . . . A typical example of divergent thinking is idea generation." Seems it is all about what has become known as the "Mozart Effect" and the idea that "happy" music can stimulate creative thinking . . in the case of this study "happy" music is defined by the authors as - "classical music that elicits positive mood and is high on arousal" . . . So if you or your team are feeling like you might be in a bit of an idea generation rut give this short paper a read, maybe throw on some background "happy" music and see what comes forth . . . The sentiment shared in the attached "classic" tune about sums it up for me and I suspect for many of you . so why not let your love of it take you to the sounds that might help you or your team come up with the next game changing idea! As always good luck! https://lnkd.in/gcQrfKfq https://lnkd.in/g4GnBu4i

🎧 How do certain frequencies evoke emotions we didn’t know we had? 🎶 Why do some drops hit harder emotionally than others? 🎵 Can a single note or sound change your entire perception of a song? 🛑 What role does silence play in amplifying the power of sound? 🔊 How do the textures in music create a sense of space or confinement in your mind? 💭 What makes certain sounds linger long after the music stops? I've had the chance to explore these questions through my journey with genres like Deathstep, Machine Gun Bass, and Melodic Dubstep—genres that push boundaries by blending intensity with emotion. 🌌 Over time, I’ve learned how sound design and dark aesthetics have shaped modern music, not just for listeners but for creators like myself. Each beat, each drop tells a story—one that’s layered and intricate. 🎛️✨ If you're someone who loves diving into music’s deeper layers, I regularly share insights on how technology, culture, and emotions collide in the world of Dubstep and electronic music.
