V Anantha Nageswaran, Chief Economic Advisor of India, calls on industry to reciprocate deregulation efforts with concrete action on improving the product quality and customer service! He reminded corporates of their responsibility to the consumers. I have personally experienced significant deterioration in the product quality and customer service of both old-established and new-age companies. I understand some of that comes due to unsustainable pressure on the companies to keep on growing volumes and profit by reducing cost. Less cost not just makes it affordable, but also forces customers to replace things more often and hence increases volume for the companies! Do you think Government intervention, which might come with more regulations, can improve the situation? Creating a policy framework for a debt-free, self-sustaining economy in India would require a multifaceted approach addressing various economic, social, and governance aspects. Here's a high-level outline of such a framework Centre for Policy Research Part2: 6. Human Capital Development Objective: Improve the skills and education levels of the workforce. - Education Reform: Overhaul the education system to focus on skill development and employability. - Vocational Training: Establish vocational training centers to provide skills relevant to the job market. - Health and Well-being: Invest in healthcare infrastructure and services to ensure a healthy workforce. 7. Environmental Sustainability Objective: Ensure economic growth does not come at the expense of environmental degradation. - Green Technologies: Promote the adoption of green technologies and renewable energy sources. - Sustainable Practices: Encourage industries to adopt sustainable practices and reduce carbon footprints. - Conservation Programs : Implement programs for the conservation of natural resources and biodiversity. 8. Governance and Institutional Strengthening Objective: Strengthen institutions to ensure effective implementation of policies. - Transparency and Accountability: Promote transparency and accountability in government operations. - Ease of Doing Business: Simplify regulations and procedures to make it easier to start and run businesses. - Anti-Corruption Measures: Implement strict anti-corruption measures to ensure public funds are used effectively. 9.
