Preventive maintenance is carried out on all equipment, machinery and infrastructure that will remain in the organization for a long time. It requires periodic tasks to extend its useful life and prevent breakdowns due to not maintaining it properly. Preventive maintenance is planned and carried out periodically on the organization's equipment and is carried out before the equipment breaks down. Corrective maintenance is carried out when equipment, machinery or part of your organization's infrastructure breaks down and you must repair it in order to put it back into your company's production cycle, that is, so that it works again and you can operate it as you were doing.

Dynamic “team player” and accomplished maintenance/facilities engineering, EHS, and project management professional passionate about people and with a desire to create positive change.
Preventive maintenance is crucial for maintaining the longevity and efficiency of equipment, machinery, and systems. 1. Cost Savings: Regular maintenance helps identify and address minor issues before they escalate into major problems. By preventing breakdowns, you save on costly repairs and downtime. 2. Safety: Well-maintained equipment is safer for operators and users. Regular inspections ensure that safety features are functional and that any potential hazards are mitigated. 3. Performance Optimization: Preventive maintenance keeps systems running at peak performance. Lubricating moving parts, cleaning filters, and calibrating instruments contribute to optimal efficiency. 4. Extended Lifespan: Just as regular oil changes prolong the life of a car engine, preventive maintenance extends the lifespan of machinery and assets. 5. Compliance: Many industries have regulations and standards that require regular maintenance. Staying compliant ensures legal and operational integrity. So remember to express your appreciation to your maintenance folks for their commitment to keeping things running smoothly! 😎

The common perception is that failures occur when equipment hasn’t been maintained, but in reality, equipment often fails because the wrong type of maintenance has been applied. It is essential to understand the manufacturer’s guidelines for maintaining the equipment and then create a maintenance plan. Also, as the equipment ages and wear occurs, it is important to review and update routines as appropriate. The correct maintenance will reduce the chance of failures and help improve the lifespan of equipment. #Productiveparks #maintenancemanagement #parksandrecreation #maintenance
