Ballard Power Secures Deal to Supply 8 MW of Fuel Cell Engines for California’s Zero-Emission Trains (BLDP) Dec. 09, 2024 Ballard Power Systems signed a multi-year agreement with Stadler US to supply 8 MW of FCmove-HD+ fuel cell engines for California's zero-emission FLIRT H2 passenger trains; financial terms were not disclosed. The deal supports Caltrans' purchase of 10 trains, with an option for 19 more, advancing California's zero-emission passenger rail capabilities. Flexibility to work everywhere. Hansa-Flex in Belgium carries out hydraulic service at the customer’s site. They have a fully equipped service van including an LPS II power supply from Clayton Power with access to 230V and 12V. The equipment is powered and charged automatically by the LPS II and the solar panels. “With the LPS II I can work the whole day without any problems”, says Christian Malais from Hansa-Flex. Using among others #exergy, we have quantified in various papers the downward spiral of the #circulareconomy among others for #recycling, #productdesign, #metallurgy, #pv etc. Maintaining all aspects of #quality i.e. #energy, #materials flows among others, measured in terms of #kW (meaning kWh/h) is of key importance. Here I am standing, once again, in the rain, waiting for a cancelled #deutschebahn train disregarding quality, disrespecting my time, trampling on my contract via a ticket etc. Exergy dissipation spontaneously comes to mind in the cold rainy wind at Bilk in #Düsseldorf. Maintaining quality is so important to help mitgate a system from likely spiralling into oblivion. Has the #German train system reached that point?

Canadian National CN  today unveiled its first new medium horsepower hybrid electric locomotive, a Q19-2.4GH developed in collaboration with Knoxville Locomotive Works.The 3,200 horsepower unit, No. 7100, includes a modern control system and is powered by a 2.4MWh-700HP battery-diesel engine that is 100% biofuel ready.
