"If in doubt, shut up and listen". Just had to share this amazing webcast by Mike, who’s spent 50 years as a Samaritan, saving lives by simply being there on the other end of the phone. His stories and wisdom on the power of listening are incredibly moving and relevant. A lot of lessons in here that anyone can take into their day-to-day life, including work. Are we, as a generation, worse at communicating now that face-to-face interactions have been limited because of the rise of social technology? It's something worth pondering. A great listen, articulated incredibly well. Mike's experiences remind us all of the profound impact we can have on others just by offering a calm, non-judgmental space to talk. Listen to understand. Don't listen to talk. Take a moment to listen to this. It might change the way you think about communication and connection.
