We had an incredible experience attending the #HRS2024 in the vibrant city of #boston 🇺🇸! Engaging with #epeeps and industry leaders has been enlightening and inspiring! We are thrilled to share two impactful poster presentations showcasing the positive results of FibriCheck: 📊 #1 Comparative Evaluation of Digital Consumer Devices for Atrial Fibrillation Detection: A Validation Study by Femke Wouters Henri Gruwez from LCRC by UHasselt - Jessa - ZOL UHasselt Ziekenhuis Oost-Limburg (ZOL) Background: This study highlights the growing prominence of consumer-oriented digital devices like smartphones and smartwatches for heart rhythm analysis, specifically atrial fibrillation (AF) detection using ECG and PPG-based recordings. Objective: To compare the accuracy of various digital devices in distinguishing between sinus rhythm and AF. Results: Data from 122 patients showed high accuracy across all devices, with FibriCheck yielding fewer inconclusive tracings compared to others. Conclusion: Digital consumer devices demonstrate high accuracy in AF detection, offering reliable alternatives for heart rhythm monitoring. 📊 #2 The Use of a Smartphone App to Detect Atrial Fibrillation After Cryptogenic Stroke by Suraya Hani Kamsani and Prashanthan Sanders from Royal Adelaide Hospital Background: Detecting AF post-cryptogenic stroke is critical for secondary prevention, and our study evaluates the feasibility of using a PPG-based smartphone app for this purpose. Objective: To compare AF detection rates between the FibriCheck app and a 30-day event monitor in stroke patients. Results: With 98 patients, the app showed a similar AF detection rate to conventional monitors (14.3% vs. 12.2%) and a high agreement rate (92.9%). Patients found the app easy to use and it provided a cost-effective monitoring alternative. Conclusion: The FibriCheck app is a feasible and efficient tool for AF detection after a stroke, demonstrating moderate agreement with traditional monitoring methods and potential for cost-effective rhythm management. We are proud of these contributions to advancing AF detection and look forward to further innovations in digital health technology. Thank you to the involved researchers! #HeartRhythm #DigitalHealth #AtrialFibrillation #InnovationInHealthcare
