I went to college in Tandil, a medium-sized city in the center of Argentina. During those years, I met many talented people, but we still had to move to Buenos Aires, the capital city, if we wanted to get a job at a top company. That’s not the case anymore. As you may know, Globant has been working in Tandil for over a decade and a half, and we have recently inaugurated one of the few Leed Platinum certified buildings of Argentina. Tandil is steadily becoming a tech hub, with a growing number of firms, and and increasing number of students choosing STEM degrees at the same university where I spent my college years. This is just one example of what impact means for us, and you can read about it in our most recent report, where we cover the impact that Globant has had over its past 20 years. I’m a firm believer in the power of companies to shape the society that we live in. Not only through their direct action, but also through fostering connections and helping other companies flourish. This has been the aim of Globant Ventures, and it’s another illustration of how to change the world around us (and you can also read about it in the report).
