Creative, Strategic, Marketing & IT Partner for Healthcare, Technology, MedTech, B2B&B2C || Global & Digital Marketing Expert
There are gaps in the Healthcare and MedTech industry. I had a bit of a chat with the team at Meditech Today on the future of the MedTech industry from a digital transformation and marketing perspective. As a digital partner in this space, we usually sit in (or around) the gaps between the clinical experts, the tech engineers, the device distribution and sales teams, and the patients. But my aim for us is to not just be a gap-filler. Our role when properly embraced and executed within the Healthcare and MedTech unit is, should be, could be... to be the bridge that helps connect the divide, and helps move the conversation. And I want to talk about that.

Here to help commercialize your medical device | Sharing the story behind our exit with Safe Obstetric Systems (Fetal Pillow) | Sign up to my newsletter for monthly insights
Are you commercializing a medical device in women’s health? You might be interested in a few insights from a recent fireside chat in New York, where I shared the story behind our journey from concept to exit. Last week, I had the pleasure of sharing our story live in New York for a fireside chat held at NYU Tandon Future Labs, hosted by Vadim Gordin. We were also joined by Hrishikesh (Rishi) Deo, Ph.D., former senior leader at Pentax's medical device group who is currently developing a robotic colonoscopy device as the founder and CEO of Ergami Endoscopy. I gave a brief presentation on the following: - The story behind our device, inspired by a high-risk and complicated birth. - How to take a device from initial concept to expansion across multiple international markets. - How we navigated the sales cycle for a high-risk medical device, one where we couldn’t support live cases, due to its use in an emergency setting - How our successful commercialisation efforts over 10 years (3 years in the US) led to our company being acquired by a leader in the field, CooperSurgical. - The key value drivers behind our company sale, including intellectual property, clinical data, hospital adoption, and our distribution strategy The floor then opened for a Q&A session. I have picked out a few key themes from that discussion to share in this month’s OBG Access Newsletter, in the hopes that it will both inspire and educate others on a similar journey. Sign up using the link in the comments or from my bio. In this newsletter, I share responses to the following questions: - How did your US commercialisation effort compare with the UK and European markets? - How did you navigate hospital group purchasing committees and what was your reimbursement strategy? - How did the relationship with CooperSurgical develop? - What were the key value drivers behind your exit? - Looking back, what would you have done differently? Sign up to the newsletter being published on Monday. Any questions, feel free to reach out! Thanks Alex Koshykov for the pictures, look forward to our podcast, out soon! #Innovation #MedicalDevices #WomensHealth #Obstetrics #Commercialization #FiresideChat #NewYork
