We are proud to support Meals on Wheels Collin County's mission to combat hunger and isolation in older adults. The first-annual Illuminating Hope Gala aimed to shine a light on the needs of those they serve, and the dedication of their volunteers. Globe Life was recognized with the Inspired to Give award, which recognized our history of support and impact on the community. #MakeTomorrowBetter

Feed My Starving Children/CGI Plymouth Meeting PA Office
On May 17th, an event that will resonate in the hearts of many took place, thanks to the organizational prowess of John Blazosky. In a remarkable display of community and corporate synergy, team members united with our client and other vendor partners at Del Val University. Our collective aim? To strike a blow against the scourge of hunger affecting children across the globe.
The day was marked by an atmosphere of hope and determination. Together, we channeled our efforts into a cause greater than ourselves, transforming despair into hope and hunger into satisfaction. The results of our collaboration were nothing short of inspiring:
433 Boxes Packed
93,528 Meals Provided
256 Children will now have meals every day for an entire year.
These numbers are not just statistics; they represent lives touched, futures brightened, and the spirit of humanity at its best.
Did You Know? Hunger claims the lives of nearly half of all children under 5 years old worldwide. It’s a harrowing reality that underscores the importance of initiatives like ours. The impact of our event is a testament to what can be achieved when we come together for a common cause.
As we reflect on our success, let’s carry forward the momentum. The fight against child hunger is ongoing, and it’s a battle we are committed to. Let’s continue to make a difference, one meal, one child at a time. Together, we can turn the tide against hunger. 💙

Did you know that nationwide, grandparents, other relatives, and close family friends are raising over 2.4 million children whose parents are unable to care for them?
For almost 25 years, grandparents and other relatives have been included in the National Family Caregiver Support Program and the Native American Caregiver Support Program. These successful programs, which are overseen by the Administration for Community Living, provide for five categories of supportive services to grandparent and other relative caregivers aged 55+ raising children. States and Area Agencies On Aging can include these important caregivers in their aging plans, and we're providing them the tools to do just that!
In this guide from Network managing partner USAging, agencies can find sample language to help develop language for their state and community.

Every May, the Administration for Community Living leads the nation’s observance of Older Americans Month (OAM). The 2024 theme, Powered by Connection, recognizes the profound impact that meaningful relationships and social connections have on our health and well-being.
🤔What can individuals do to connect? Invite more connection into your life by finding a new passion, joining a social club, taking a class, or trying new activities in your community. Stay engaged in your community by giving back through volunteering, working, teaching, or mentoring. Invest time with people to build new relationships and discover deeper connections with your family, friends, colleagues, or neighbors.

I was so excited to watch this project come together, from early concepts and strategy to those first design mockups and all the way through to development and deployment. It was a wonderful project and I love the end result.
Congrats to Stef Jones, Heather Schneider, Tayo, Joshua, Mike, and the entire SCAN team.
Here are a few behind-the-scenes highlights I caught from the sidelines while watching this project come together:
1) We used Octopus.do for rapid and visual sitemap generation. It helped visualize rough page layouts, which helped communicate those ideas with the project's lead designer.
2) This is the second project we have used Storybook on, and it made QA and handling the growing number of layout permutations feel manageable rather than ballooning technical debt.
3) We continue to push image attribution on as many photos as possible. This is an extra bit of work but makes the site feel alive, rich with meta details, and does right by both the photographers, artists, and the subjects. We've been using tippy.js for this and might move to the author's new library, floating-ui.js, in the future.
4) We used GigaPixel by TopazLabs to upscale one of the main hero images. It does a beautiful job of adding super-resolution detail without introducing artifacts or detracting from the original's look and feel. It's a one-time purchase, and we'll definitely be using it in the future.
5) Utility-based CSS frameworks seem to have been a win with the developers; maybe I was the lone skeptic. They also make content modular across a single project and even potentially between different client projects. This is particularly of interest as we lean heavily into WordPress Gutenberg blocks. Combined with Storybook, it could also be a winning strategy.

August is Child Support Awareness Month! 🌟
As we take this time to celebrate and support the incredible work of child support professionals across the nation, it’s important to remember the profound impact of these programs. In FY23 alone, state and tribal programs collected a staggering $29.6 billion, benefiting 12.7 million children across the U.S. That’s 1 in 5 children! 🙌
The Office of Child Support Services (OCSS) is not just about financial support; it's about uplifting entire families. From employment programs to fatherhood initiatives and reentry partnerships, OCSS is committed to helping parents provide a brighter future for their children. 💼👨👩👧👦
This year, we're also excited to see new regulations that fully fund tribal child support programs and support states during emergencies. These changes are vital in ensuring every child receives the support they need, regardless of the challenges their families face.
Let’s spread the word and raise awareness about the importance of child support services. Together, we can help children and families thrive. 💛
