FivePoint introduced the first of what is now eight communities in Great Park Neighborhoods 10 years ago with the promise that “life will be different here.” It’s more than just a slogan. It’s a goal and daily challenge to create a place with distinctive style and personality. One that’s lively and imaginative, with a few surprises and delights along the way. Beyond the creation of new streets and structures, residents and visitors tell us they feel a strong sense of community, opportunity and connection at GPN... something different than what they once knew before. As FivePoint continues to invite the community to celebrate GPN’s 10th anniversary, it’s been fun to find collaborators who share that vision and have an interest in creating a uniquely DIFFERENT kind of experience -- both for Great Park Neighborhoods residents and the surrounding community. In the spirit of a modern-day speakeasy, the Irvine location of Left Coast Brewing Co. (located a stone's throw from GPN) has introduced a special “life will be different here” blonde ale this month into its collection of craft brews. To a certain extent, I don't agree with this. The creative team was hired to do a job; there are always some parameters that are put in place. A creative team would need to trust parameters as long as they are reasonable. However, a good leader/business owner would trust the creative team to think outside the box and think differently from the business owner/client to help that business reach new heights.

It is good to step away from the podium and into the country. Evergreen, TX, was home during the 1990s, and Dad is still there. It was a beautiful day to cut wood and clean out overgrowth.
