Somebody said: “A Mercedes is not a status symbol if you have to drive it to a job you hate”. That’s just BS 1. A Mercedes is not a status symbol. It’s just a car. The only person who can define a “status symbol” for you, is you. (If you even want to do that) 2. If for some reason, you hate your job, driving a nice car (whatever the brand) might just help you feel a little bit better. Why would you drive a rickety Datsun to a job you hate? 3. If you are a doctor, and you hate where your career is at the moment, take a moment and book a free call with me. Let’s chat and see if I can help you create better options for yourself. You don’t have to hate your job. Book a call (there is a very short survey in there to help me get to know you better, and for you to decide if this meeting is for you) 👇👇

Finding Chip Fab Construction and Manufacturing Talent Identifying and securing tradespeople who can handle the intricate needs of chip fab construction is something that needs more attention and thought, Shari Liss, executive director of the SEMI Foundation, a nonprofit arm of SEMI that focuses on workforce development programs, told EE Times in an exclusive interview. Many Chips manufacturing developments have become interested in building and developing partnerships to advance apprenticeships to address the needs for technicians and operators, within the state and industry. However, establishing these qualified apprenticeship programs can take about a year or more, and they can run between 18 and 24 months. Associated with this is workforce inclusion and equity since minorities have historically been underrepresented in technology and chips research and manufacturing requires special skills normally not part of technical and career education currently. This may complicate goals the United States has to quickly onshore semiconductor manufacturing. Many Fab sites are being planned in rural settings as part of state economic development strategies and can pose additional stress on access to the jobs being created from persons living in urban areas. https://lnkd.in/gvzk6C3y

My very first Dscoop . Recently I asked a new HP customer to participate on an education session panel at @Dscoop Indy. Their #cfo asked why they would pay to attend a “trade show” to share their story with others. . I stopped dead in my tracks, traveling back in my mind 13 years to when I joined #HPIndigo. Back then I had the exact same question! . For nearly 20 years prior to joining HP my only experience at large #printing events was an industry where companies fiercely protected their ideas, did not #share anything with others and viewed #competition as the #enemy . . At my very first Dscoop event (in Washington DC) – I was truly shocked and amazed to see 1500 Dscoop members speak freely about industry-wide challenges, opportunities and (gasp!) even #cooperation. I say this with all seriousness. I was #stunned. . I was stunned to see people attending sessions together, competitors participating on panels, leaders meeting Ad Hoc in hallways, and forming business relationships at the bar each night. Many of these relationships existed before I joined and continue to exist today. . They were not talking in minute details. With a few notable exceptions, no one was speaking about the brands they were working with. People were talking in general terms about things they had tried and what they had learned from it: technology, business models, how to hire and retain good people, even M&A strategies. . They were also developing new #businessrelationships, #partnerships, and seeing cutting-edge applications. They were taking advantage of the HP executives and R&D teams present to tell us (HP) what they liked, didn’t like and what they needed next. . Oh and by the way – they got to see the latest & greatest #finishing, #digitalpresses, #workflow software, creative #solutions, #media partners, #service models and technology - from nearly 100 companies – the largest assembled anywhere with the possible exception of #drupa . . But this post is already too long and by now you probably think I'm selling something. I'm not. It is only my genuine hope that every HP Industrial Print customer chooses to experience Dscoop Indy like I did for the first time 12 years ago, in person and for yourself. It’s a few days of time and a little money. Over 1500 people do it every year with many traveling from Europe and Asia to attend. Why? What do they know? . There truly is nothing like Dscoop. If you don’t believe me – just ask anyone who’s attended over the past 18 years. . https://lnkd.in/e97yvbav Jon BaileyJack GlackenSam Mousavi Bob TravisBill DuerrRob DanielsKieren (Toby) McManusJohnHenry RuggieriDavid BennettMatthew DoranTodd CoberRosemarie Breske GarveyBrian ScottJonathan BeckJoan EscoverChristopher BurnleyPeter van TeeselingKeren Yakolev ZurAnnette FriskoppCarl JoachimLeta WoodGinger Emas SchlangerDavid RosendahlJeff TruanMark HuntJordi GiraltNick Benkovich
