With just six years to go until we reach 2030, only *17%* of the #SDG targets are on track. This worrying statistic loomed large over July's #HLPF. GNDR's Policy Lead, Becky Murphy, was part of our HLPF delegation and has shared her reflections from the event, which include: 🟠 achieving the SDGs requires a whole of society approach 🟠 we cannot end #poverty without ending #conflict 🟠 #civilsociety must be meaningfully included in high level discussions Read her blog 👇

Ending poverty in all its forms everywhere" is not just a goal, it's a necessity. #SustainableDevelopmentGoal1 (SDG1) aims to eradicate poverty by addressing its root causes: lack of access to basic resources, education, healthcare, and economic opportunities. By promoting inclusive growth, social protection systems, and equal rights, we can uplift marginalized communities and create a more equitable world. Achieving #SDG1 requires collaboration among governments, businesses, and civil society to implement sustainable policies and investments. Together, let's strive to ensure no one is left behind, and everyone has the opportunity to thrive. #SDG1 #EndPoverty #GlobalGoals 🌍🌱

At Rhapsody of Experiences Youth and Women Empowerment Foundation (ROE), we align with United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. One of the goals is zero poverty. Poverty eradication necessitates a multifaceted approach. Firstly, investing in education empowers individuals, breaking the cycle of generational poverty. Creating sustainable job opportunities through economic development and entrepreneurship fosters financial independence. Social safety nets and healthcare provisions ensure basic needs are met, enhancing overall well-being. Governments should prioritize equitable resource distribution and implement policies that address income inequality. International collaboration on fair trade and debt relief can uplift impoverished nations. Lastly, fostering a culture of inclusivity and combating discrimination promotes equal opportunities for all. By combining these strategies, societies can make significant strides towards eradicating poverty, fostering a more just and prosperous world. Sustainable Development Goal 1 (SDG 1) is a global 🌎 commitment to eradicate poverty in all its forms and dimensions. At its core are seven targets, each outlining a specific dimension of the multifaceted challenge of poverty: 🔴 Target 1.1: Reduce by at least half the proportion of men, women, and children of all ages living in poverty. 🔴 Target 1.2: Implement nationally appropriate social protection systems to ensure that no one is left behind in times of need. 🔴 Target 1.3: Ensure equal rights to ownership, basic services, and resources for all, regardless of socio-economic status. 🔴 Target 1.4: Build resilience and reduce the exposure of people in poverty to climate-related extreme events and other shocks. 🔴 Target 1.5: Ensure equal access for all men and women to economic resources, as well as basic services and opportunities. 🔴 Target 1.A: Mobilize resources to implement policies and programs to end poverty in all its dimensions. 🔴 Target 1.B: Create sound policy frameworks at the national, regional, and international levels, based on pro-poor and gender-sensitive development strategies. As we collectively ✌ address these targets, let's weave a tapestry of change where communities are empowered, inclusivity flourishes, and a future devoid of poverty becomes our shared reality. 🌍💙 To know more we follow us https://linktr.ee/ARTY.pk . . . . . . . #SDG1 #EndPoverty #GlobalGoals #EmpowerCommunities #InclusiveDevelopment #DignityForAll #ProsperityForEveryone #EradicatePoverty #SDGTargets #CollectiveAction #BuildingHope #GlobalResilience #CompassionInAction #UnitedAgainstPoverty #ChangeMakers #PovertyFreeWorld #TogetherWeCan #SustainableFuture #HopefulJourney #EmpoweringLives #CreateChange #SocialImpact #GlobalSolidarity #PathsToProsperity #BetterTogether #MakeADifference #arty #sdgs

In our quest for sustainable development, it's imperative to recognize the pivotal role that our Flourishing Communities play in achieving our aspirations, particularly in doing our part to eradicate poverty. Sustainable Development Goal #1 underscores the urgency of this mission, aiming to lift individuals out of poverty and ensure their access to basic necessities and opportunities for prosperity. What makes these communities essential in fulfilling SDG #1? Firstly, they serve as incubators of empowerment, offering individuals the support and resources needed to break the cycle of poverty. Through table lending within each group and skill-building initiatives, these groups equip residents with the tools to secure economic independence. As we navigate the complexities of sustainable development, let us recommit ourselves to fostering communities where every individual can flourish. #SustainableDevelopment #EndPoverty #CommunityEmpowerment #SDGs #Kenya

NEW in The Wall Street Journal: Gonzalo Schwarz and Johan Norberg shed light on the problems with Oxfam's inequality data and framing of the problem. Instead of inequality, we should focus on upward social mobility. "Frankly, it’s easy to eliminate inequality: make everyone poor. Increasing social mobility is more difficult and is a cause more worthy of our attention." #Oxfam #Inequality #Poverty #GlobalPoverty #EndPoverty #SocialMobility #UpwardMobility #IncomeMobility #EconomicMobility #EconomicDevelopment #EconomicGrowth
