A few sobering stats from the "Household Food Insecurity in Canada, 2022"◽ report:
◾ 22.9% of households in Newfoundland and Labrador experienced some degree of food insecurity in the previous 12 months, amounting to 116,000 people.
◾ This is the highest rate in any of the ten provinces in Canada.
◾ 28.8% of children under 18 in Newfoundland and Labrador lived in food-insecure households.
Since 2022, NLCU has held its annual NLCU Fall Food Drive to help support individuals and families in Newfoundland and Labrador who experience food insecurity to get the nourishment they need.
Please donate if you can.
Between now and October 31, drop by your local NLCU branch to make a donation.
