I'm excited to announce I’m launching a new standalone Crisis Communications offering via Brennan Communications. If you've worked with me, you know that tackling complex issues or crises is where I thrive. I also understand the genuine fear of business vulnerabilities being exposed and the challenge of not having the bandwidth to focus on crisis planning due to day-to-day demands. Throughout my career, I've built crisis plans and managed through more business-disrupting issues than I can count. I've been on the front lines through lawsuits, major layoffs, price increases, data and cyber incidents, significant service disruptions, dissolution of large and small entities, work stoppages and strikes, discontinuation of benefits, abrupt leadership changes, workplace injuries, and much more. You don’t have to be on the Comms team to see the need for crisis or issue preparedness. Random News Alert! About 4 year ago, this made its rounds in San Diego, CA. A man was arrested for breaking into a bank, not to rob it, but to microwave his Hot Pocket! While it's a funny reminder of the lengths people will go to satiate their cravings, it also reminds me of the importance of hiring resourceful employees. Resourcefulness can’t be taught. You need employees who are “hungry” and will stop at nothing to solve issues independently. This is the type of question I like to ask candidates to assess their problem solving skills. "Imagine you are leading a project, and midway through, you lose access to a critical resource or key team member. How would you adapt to ensure the project stays on track and meets its deadlines?"
