Requirement review checklist b. Requirement Traceability Matrix c. Test Scenario and Test Case 10. Build and Update the Application Regression Test Suite concerning the current requirements. 11. Prioritize the Test Cases based on the requirement priority. 12. Build Test Scenarios, Test Cases and Test Data. 13. Build, Update and execute all the testing types documented in the test plan such as smoke test, functional test, non-functional test, performance test, security test etc. 14. Ensure handshake from UT to ST: this activity includes sharing of Unit Test Cases, Test Results, Issue Logs and Defect Logs with the Testing Team. 15. Ensure regular Defect Triage meetings and Defect Reporting: These meetings are to discuss the critical and high-impacting defects to prioritize and fix them. 16. Perform Regression Testing: Execute the Regression Test Suite. This is to be done at the end of each type of testing. It could be Full Regression Testing or Partial Regression testing based on the change in functionality. 17. Consolidate & Analyze Metrics for all Test Phases. 18. Perform Causal analysis of all defects raised during various types of testing, especially the escaped defects. 19. Perform a Test Phase Quality Review along with all impacted stakeholders. 20. If there is ONE tip I'd give to junior engineers applying for a startup job –––– Contribute To Open Source Software (OSS) –––– Why? ⚒ Solid evidence that you are a builder – Your contributions show that you can write production-ready code easily testable and understood by other developers. This is basically not your first rodeo, you have done this before. 📞 You can communicate, collaborate and present your ideas in a written format Your pull requests and code reviews demonstrate your ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and concisely. This is one of the most impactful skills I notice in great engineers. 🐞 You can investigate & debug hard problems Solved a long-standing bug in an open-source project using systematic debugging, and documented the process – You are evidence-based, you don't just skim the surface and throw theories at problems. 👨🏻💻 You can read through, navigate large codebases and contribute reliably – Knowing your way around big, complex codebases only comes through doing this many times over and helps you be impactful, fast! 📝 You can take & and give feedback with an open mind – You can't work alone, at least most of the time, and being able to give & take feedback will take you so far in building credit & trust in your team(s) -- Btw, I am hiring a Software Engineer based in Egypt!
