WE NEED AN ANNUAL CYBERSECURITY DARWIN AWARDS!!
THERE IS SOMETHING STINKY ON THE U.S.S. MANCHESTER!
I ask either The Register or Ars Technica start an annual Cybersecurity Darwin Awards and I submit for their review Chief Grisel Marrero, who used to be a Navy Command Senior Chief (CMDCS) on the U.S.S. Manchester, an Independence-class combat warship. A CMDCS is the highest enlisted officer on a Navy warship, She was also the ship's IT Specialist, with a background in Navy intelligence and specializing in cybersecurity.
Internet access on a Navy ship is tightly restricted for operational security from cyberattacks and to preserve bandwidth during combat operations.
As the most senior enlisted officer on the ship, Grisel is responsible for the ship's morale among other important things and one day she thought "Well, I can't improve the morale of all the enlisted but I can for myself and my fellow chiefs by getting faster internet and install a Starlink dish." So, something STINKY began to transmit during combat operations in the Pacific.
The article in The Navy Times is very well written but conspiring with her chiefs, lying to senior officers at all times and installing/removing the device at the highest point on the ship during investigations. It wasn't until repeated rumors to senior officers made them suspicious of her behavior that she was finally found out. She was court marshalled and busted down in rank to E-7. f someone can tell me exactly how much of a reduction in rank to E-7 is I would appreciate it.
I cannot fathom how someone with her career, knowledge and experience could risk the ship's safety just to watch Netflix, I will never know.

3moROTC can be a great option for some. But I wish I would have checked out other options before joining it. It’s a sellers market and services are desperate to get people to join. So anyone considering the Army, should shop around and see who will give you the best deal that aligns with what you want from life, not buying into a bunch of PAO hype.
