Equitable access to transportation is essential, but for India’s 26.8 million people with disabilities, many public transport systems remain inaccessible, limiting their participation in daily life. 🗣️ At the recent GIZ India panel, "Barrier Free Mobility: Unifying Efforts Towards Inclusive Transportation," key stakeholders discussed how to address this issue. 🤝 These efforts are crucial for building more inclusive cities and supporting India’s progress toward the UN's Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Find out more about what was discussed and proposed in our latest article ➡️ https://bit.ly/3TmFfQD #WeChangeTransport (CT)

Even after 78 years of independence, the hard truth is that our nation grapples with fundamental challenges like access to daily necessities, social equality, women’s empowerment, and poverty. Alongside these enduring issues, new challenges have emerged, such as the widening wealth gap, a growing obsession with quick wealth, exploitation of outdated reservation systems, and a mindset that often remains rooted in outdated perspectives. As we reflect on our journey, it’s crucial to address these issues with a forward-thinking approach. The path to true progress lies in evolving our collective mindset, embracing fairness, and fostering a culture of inclusivity and innovation. Only then can we truly fulfill the vision of a stronger, more equitable India.

Celebrating Constitution Day: Honoring the Architects of Justice and Equality On November 26, 1949, India adopted its Constitution, the cornerstone of the world's largest democracy. While Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s contribution remains unparalleled, it’s equally important to remember the 15 remarkable women who shaped our nation's democratic framework at a time when women faced immense societal challenges. These trailblazers broke barriers to ensure justice, equality, and liberty were enshrined in our Constitution. Among them were: Sarojini Naidu: A voice for women’s rights and the Nightingale of India. Dakshayani Velayudhan: The first Dalit woman in the Constituent Assembly. Rajkumari Amrit Kaur: A champion for public health and women’s empowerment. Hansa Mehta: Instrumental in shaping the fundamental rights. Begum Aizaz Rasul: The only Muslim woman in the Assembly. These 15 women, including Ammu Swaminathan, Sucheta Kriplani, and Vijaya Lakshmi Pandit, paved the way for a more inclusive and equitable society. As we celebrate Constitution Day, let’s honor their legacy by reflecting on our rights and responsibilities as citizens. The Constitution is more than a legal document—it’s a living testament to the ideals of democracy, inclusion, and equality. "Liberty, equality, and fraternity must not be treated as separate items in a trinity. They form a union of trinity in the sense that to divorce one from the other is to defeat the very purpose of democracy." – Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Let’s pledge to uphold these values and work toward a brighter, more inclusive future for India. #ConstitutionDay #SamvidhanDivas #India #Democracy #Equality #WomenInLeadership #Inclusion
