Before cracking the Interview, - I failed to get into IIT and even NIT - I couldn’t even crack TCS/IBM during placements - I was unplaced after my B.Tech But I didn't give up. Here's what I did: - I learned programming, math, and statistics basics. - Identified strengths and weaknesses, then worked on improving them. - Developed a plan and stuck to it, learning from mistakes and constantly improving. After many failures and years of effort's, I landed a decent💪🏻 And today, I have this message for you → The happiness of 1 success can make you forget the sadness of 100 rejections. To help you achieve that success, many engineers are now providing 1:1 guidance. LinkedIn Top Voice '24 | Google Cloud Facilitator | SDE @ EY | Google Cloud Certified - Associate Cloud Engineer | Cloud Computing | Google Developer Groups ( GDG Indore ) | GirlScript Ireland | Coding Minutes
I come from a small city named Gwalior in Madhya Pradesh. My academic journey began with disappointment – scoring 59.2% in my Higher Secondary School Certificate Examination (HSSC) and failing twice in the IIT JEE exam. Each failure felt like a personal blow, shaking my confidence and I felt lost and making me question my capabilities . Determined not to give up, I enrolled in a tier-3 private engineering college far from home. The college environment offered no support – no coding culture, no ecosystem for studies, and no proper guidance or infrastructure. I struggled academically, accumulating three backlogs at one point, and my CGPA dropped to 4.10 in my second semester and 5.13 in my third semester. The sense of self-doubt was overwhelming, especially being so far from my parents and unable to share my struggles with them. But I refused to give up. I worked tirelessly and managed to complete my engineering degree with a CGPA of 7.18. However, as no companies came for placements at my college, I had to prepare for off-campus placements. The biggest hurdle was getting shortlisted due to my academic record and the criteria most companies had. For nine months, I faced continuous rejections – clearing online assessments and interviews only to be excluded from the final lists. Just before my 8th semester exams, I finally received my first job offer from Infosys. It was a day I will never forget – seeing the happiness and tears in my parents' eyes made all the struggles worthwhile. Following that, I received offers from Infosys, Capgemini, Amdocs, Nagarro, and EY, where I currently work as a software engineer. Now, as a software engineer at EY, I dedicate my time to guiding students facing similar challenges. Joining topmate.io has allowed me to reach and help even more people. Being in the top 1% of topmate.io with 462+ bookings, receiving recognition as a LinkedIn Top Voice '24, and being named one of India's Top 200 LinkedIn creators are achievements I am incredibly proud of. Additionally, serving as a Google Cloud Facilitator has further enriched my journey. The ultimate success came when colleges like IITs, NITs, IIITs, VIT, Manipal, and SRM – institutions I once dreamed of taking admission and they did not give me admission there – invited me as a guest speaker to guide and motivate their students. This full-circle moment is a testament to the power of perseverance and dedication. The messages of gratitude I receive from students who secure jobs because of my guidance keep me motivated. Joining Topmate The hardships I faced ignited a passion in me to guide and support students in similar situations. I wanted to bridge the gap of awareness and guidance that I had experienced. I started sharing my knowledge and experiences on various platforms, and eventually joined Topmate. Thank you, topmate.io, for providing a platform to share my journey and help others. Together, we can achieve great things. #mytopmatepurpose #topmate

I wasted my 3 years at Infosys, you don't read the post if you in Infosys right now The Journey goes like this 📌 Training period: Right after the placement from the tier3 college boarded the train to explore the world of software engineering and the very first day i remember many young budding engineers like me standing in the long que in front of the Mysore infy campus. The first 3 months were horrible and used to stay in the GEC till 11 PM to complete all the tasks for the day. The next three months i failed twice in the FA exams and thats when i realised that bunny ab tumhara ghar jane ka vakt a gaya hi :) which made me study till 12 - 1 PM in the night and that fear of ghar jane vala made me survive. 📌 The Chennai Journey: I got trained in Pure java development but after the training got placed into DevOps :) The weekly exams by my manager made me understand that devops is not my cup, and rather he also understood the same and removed me from the team. 📌 The new Chennai ERA: I prepared my resume and luckily got selected as DevOps engineer in Toyota but here comes the twist i was introduced as 3 years of experience to the onsite team and the first two-three weeks received two escalations :) 📌 The Breakout of DevOps: I realised the need of a mentor for me after receiving two escalations and talked the same with my manager he understood my pain and assigned me a technical lead from then onwards there was no look back. 📌 The Daily routine in Infosys: I enjoyed learning DevOps and slowly came to the pace but the project pressure on me was so high that i had to choose an option either to play or spend more time with my friends and i decided to take both and spend time equally. 7AM - 8 AM -> Started playing Badminton in Infosys Chennai campus 8AM - 9 AM -> Got ready for the work and included the breakfast time also in this slot 9 AM - 12:30 PM -> Work hours at ODC 12:30 PM - 1:30 PM + 30 min buffer :) -> Lunch time 2 PM - 7 PM - Work hours 7 PM - 7:30 PM - Friends time 📌 Recap of 3 years at Infosys: Apart from my career life i have explored nothing, but if you have read the post till here make sure you explore the other side inside you. If you are a fresher/intern/experienced and looking to up-skill then 𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐝𝐞𝐯𝐨𝐩𝐬 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞 https://lnkd.in/gF2fs6jF [Last 10 seats with 65% off ] 𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐟𝐫𝐞𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐨 𝐜𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐬 -https://lnkd.in/gdaAm69V With love Yours Singam

Guest Faculty IIT Madras | Personal and Professional Development | Consultant - Microlearning through Play/Games
One of the must read books for any 1st year engineering student (and also for senior year students too. Its never too late) is a book "A Job Before Graduation" - written by my friend Gokul Santhanam, who is Senior Vice President of MPhasis, A very easy read but he has analyzed the problems and disconnects between what curricular academic education offers and what industry really wants from candidates. He had originally intended it for tier-2 or tier-3 colleges and not for Tier-1 institutes like IITs. But when I read the book and also mentored a few previous batch students of IITM, I realized that some parts of the book are applicable across even premium institutions. One of the chapters in this book is about how to plan the 4 years of engineering. He gives a variety of things to be done beyond exams/marks/grades. While you need not follow each of what he says it will still be a good eye opener and broaden your perspective I have gifted this book to more than 100 students so far since its so much valuable.

Engineering in India should be considered more of a mindset than a degree. Well, hear me out for a moment. I have been “the” typical engineering product, out of an engineering college in the country. Having studied a core engineering branch, I knew for a fact that, from a work perspective, there was no way by which I could have applied this skill. When I left campus to join TCS, my first job, the validation became stronger that engineering is nowhere helping me build a career. It is the - - thought process and the thinking mechanism - The lens through which I see things - Processes that I have built both for my personal and professional life All of which I have gotten because of my engineering degree. I always tell people, that engineers think differently and I have seen it for myself time and again. What do you think? #engineer #mindset #growth

🌟 Talent Knows No Boundaries! In a world where opportunities often align with prestigious institutions, it’s important to recognize that true talent is not limited to a few select colleges. Many bright minds come from average colleges, driven by passion, hard work, and the determination to overcome financial challenges. I am one of those individuals. Despite not having the privilege of attending a top-tier college, I’ve honed my skills in Java and backend development through dedication and real-world experience. My journey has taught me that excellence is not confined to a classroom; it’s built through persistence and a love for technology. I urge companies like Wipro, Cognizant, Zensar, Time Technoplast, Coforge, and many more to look beyond the college name and give opportunities to those who have the skills, drive, and potential to make a difference. The real measure of a developer is not where they studied, but what they can build and contribute. Let’s create a more inclusive hiring process that values determination, skills, and passion, regardless of educational background. Let's continue to lift each other up and create opportunities where they are truly earned. Your encouragement means the world to me, and I’m excited to see how we can all make a difference together! #InclusiveHiring #TechTalent #JavaDeveloper #BackendDevelopment #Wipro #Cognizant #Zensar #TimeTechnoplast #Coforge #OpportunityForAll #SoftwareDeveloper #TechCommunity #CodingLife #CareerGrowth #Gratitude #InclusiveGrowth #TechForAll #CommunitySupport #CareerOpportunities #TogetherWeRise #oppurtunities #Accenture

AME @ Uplers | ex Info Edge India Ltd | ex JK Foods | Account management | Product marketing | Campaign management | ATL Marketer | I give relief from corporate pressure | Do you love to laugh
A week ago, I posted that TCS announced to offer 2-8% increment max cap to its employees based in India. That post received almost 2 L+ impressions, 1100 likes, and nearly 190 comments. Finally, the tide is turning! Now, TCS is again starting to hire freshers in three categories: Ninja: 3.36 LPA Digital: 7 LPA Prime: 9 LPA P.S. :-) Does this happen due to creators like us?😅 Jokes aside, if it's implemented, it will truly be motivating for freshers & for all IT industry. #Technology #IT #TCS #programming #softwareengineering #corporate
