What your July 4th 🌭 condiment choices say about your wealthtech: Ketchup Only: You have the bare minimum tech. Your tools are probably still very similar to when the firm started. Big changes are on the horizon but giving up the price points you have with current tech keeps you where you are. Your data habits are suspect... Ketchup and Mustard: Your tech stack includes a lot of the major players as best of breed has always been your strategy. There's nothing crazy complicated going on and probably not too much automation. Still quite a bit of manual, repeat data entry. Ketchup, Mustard & Relish (bonus points for Sauerkraut): You're on the cutting edge. You've got best of breed mixed with some smaller, more specialized players. Your team is efficient because there's a fair amount of integration between systems and automation handling manual tasks. Your data is reliable and clean. Plain dog: You're either an inefficient psychopath or evil tech genius. You might be using Excel in place of a real CRM or you've implemented a super-tailored-to-your-firm's-needs CRM as the hub of your business. CREATING KNOWARE PT 1 – REFLECTIONS FROM CLARE SOMERVILLE [ONE OF KNOWARE’S FOUNDERS] - THE BEGINNING The Knowledge Warehouse Limited came to life over several good lunches. It was the days of long lunches: well, it was for us anyhow. There were three of us. John L [one of the founders] was an excellent cook easily capable of turning out a sumptuous eight course degustation as a friendly evening meal. He was talking governance and sales. He had been nurturing the company name for a while, thinking knowledge was going to be the next big thing. That was the early to mid-nineties and he wasn't wrong there. “Is it to be The Knowledge Warehouse or just Knowledge Warehouse” I asked? “Definitely THE Knowledge Warehouse” was the reply. Clive C [another of the founders] was and still is the cleverest technical person I came across in my career. He would quietly set about knowing exactly how something worked and making sure that he delivered whatever was required. He covered such a wide range of areas that when he suddenly died it took three people to replace his set of skills. The company was registered in 1996 but Clive's death put The Knowledge Warehouse on ice for a few years. However seven years later we put together another group of friends and colleagues to stand The Knowledge Warehouse Limited on its feet as a data warehousing and business intelligence consultancy…. #BusinessAnniversary #21YearsStrong #MilestoneCelebration
