Great session today from Vince and the Ultimate Partner Experience. There were a couple of things from Erwin Visser and Dux Sy's session that I wanted to share here. Highlights 1️⃣ 2️⃣ 3️⃣ were from the session, subpoints are my extrapolation. 1️⃣ Verticalization and a focus on driving business value across solution areas is key to differentiation for both customers and Cosell partners. Capability isn't differentiated - If customers know exactly what they want, they can hire talent to solve it and they want that talent cheap. Also, if you are building your partnership brand, Microsoft sellers already have a partner in mind with capability. Art of the Possible ideation may be too high a barrier to entry - most organizations are understaffed, behind budget and don't have the time or capacity for weeks of presales to figure out what needs to be built. It is a necessary skill to continue adding value for your customer, but a steep hill to climb when meeting new ones. What is and will always be compelling is a partner that's been where the customer needs to go. One that can say I know your pain points, I've worked with your tech stack, I've solved a challenge like yours before, and I can customize what I've done to meet your unique needs. 2️⃣ The key to unlocking value through AI lies in the integration of data. An analogy that comes to mind is to equate ChatGPT to having Einstein on your team. He is unquestionably smarter than most anyone. BUT he doesn't know your business. He doesn't know context, process, history, roles, what you deliver, etc. For that, Einstein needs access to all your information. Que Copilot. Copilot is Einstein trained on your information. He's now informed enough about your business to make be realllly helpful. BUT, we all have a lot of bad information on our networks. We have presentations or documents that should never be repeated, outdated statistics, example case studies that appear factual, you name it. Even if we secure our data, we still have unhelpful or bad information. Que custom AI/ML work. Only when someone comes along to catalog, organize, connect, train and build systems to maintain the information do we truly realize the power of Einstein's brain. This is the opportunity for partners to bring value. 3️⃣ Erwin Visser said his favorite way to use copilot is through the Teams app (Einstein with your data). Dux Raymond Sy said his favorite way is to use custom copilots (Einstein on a trained system). At #microsoft Build last week they shared that you can now @mention your custom copilots inside of the Teams copilot app. All the convenience of living inside of Teams, with the trained intelligence of custom copilots. Best of both worlds!
