Why doesn't renewable energy play a much bigger role in mining operations? By adding solar and batteries to a remote NSW titanium mine site: - they have gone from 41 diesel generators to just six (saving five million litres of diesel a year) - will have up to 40% of the mine site’s total power supply supplied under stage 1 - will reduce their annual carbon emissions by around 13,000 tonnes and - will slash operations and maintenance costs Is it just a matter of time before solar and batteries are added to every mine site? #renewableenergy #mining #energystorage #battery #solar #solarpv
