The world needs care now more than ever. As a medical practitioner fluent in English, I'm ready to lend my skills wherever most needed. Years of study and practice in my home country formed strong foundations. But boundaries mean little to illness - we must go to where suffering exists. Clinical excellence transcends borders. Empathy translates globally. My qualifications and passion are portable; all that's missing is an open door. Whether in another province or abroad, I will fight complications, educate patients and support colleagues to highest standards. Challenges don't discourage me - they ignite my drive to relieve hurt. #kenyajobs #kenyatahospital #medicalpractice #seekingnewopportunities #researchassistant #researchers #dubaihealth #dublinireland #medicaldirector #medicaldoctor

Great thoughts here on the current market conditions.
Speaking at a careers night for junior doctors at the local regional hospital, trying to get them to become GP/Rural/RG. Some themes over the speeches seem to be consistent. Almost all of the talking/thinking/physician like specialities seem to be in workforce shortage and offering lots of variety and life balance and opportunities for special interests. At least in regional areas this seems more true. Less shortage with the ‘doing’/procedural (and of course they will point out they are thinking) specialties. Do we think this is an effect of the kind of medical students we are choosing? Is it that the roles appear more enticing to doctors because of variety/challenge/hand eye skills? Are procedural roles desirable as they may be seen as less emotionally heavy? Or perhaps it is because our funding system has long favoured procedures over talking and the market is just responding to years and years of price signalling? Should we be looking at the way we fund the roles in medicine as the key part of overall reform? Feels like we are tinkering at the edges with all the blame being applied to ‘scope’ issues. (Photo of one of the communities, Karumba, that I visit where we will never get a procedural specialist to join us).
