Back from #DCAT and extending a huge thanks to those that took the time to connect in the Big Apple. 🍏 This morning I read a great piece by Hunt Scanlon Media bringing together the observations and insights across the Talent Advisory sector as we conclude March 2024. A lot of these topics defined conversation in #NYC Notable takeaways ; - The Healthcare, Life Science sector added 650,000 jobs in 2023. - #Blockchain #Digitization & #Machinelearning continue to provoke the exploration of a patient-centric agenda and inform critical decision making as the economy finds a new balance. The demand for talent in this field as well as #regulatory is rapidly accelerating beyond the available. - #Remuneration levels are still being "re-balanced" following unprecedented spikes driven by large scale investment during the pandemic. - Workforce reductions have tended to impact entry and mid-level positions with LS/Healthcare organisations looking to retain their Executives amidst the volatility. - #Culture, #Empathy & #Diversity will continue to define #CSuite #leadership with future #CEO's expected to emerge from a broader, complimentary skill background. - "Cautious Optimism" is advised despite recent, positive activity in the #IPO and M&A space. Multi-asset and platform companies are being looked on favourably as the investment landscape eagerly tracks progress. - #Relocation and finding the balance in #wfh continues to drive strong debate. - The wider industry development towards personalised medicine has driven a "just-now" approach in global #supplychain behaviour. Recent meetings I've held at #CPhI, combined with the temperature taken from those I've connected with who attended #JPM, would suggest that 2024 indeed looks healthier. Progress is expected but through sensible and intelligent acknowledgement of the wider, industrial climate and with an obvious consideration of the lessons taken from the pandemic. Karen DeSalvo and Garth Graham what a way to stand firmly upon the foundation of advocating for people (not just patients) by highlighting this critical point. "Alongside these established SDH, the pandemic highlighted a determinant that has assumed an increasingly crucial role in the digital age: information. Information, which can be viewed as an independent determinant of health (IDH) (Fig. 1) both directly and indirectly influences health outcomes through its bidirectional interaction with SDH. IDH enacts these direct and indirect influences through three broad levers: information quality, information context, and information connectivity."
