Interesting short piece by one of the directors at Cayuga Homes on one of the many frustrating parts involved in the construction of new buildings. For contacts who perhaps are not in development finance or part of the construction industry, you may have often wondered why things take so long, get delayed or indeed why contractors have dug up (almost) the same piece of road three separate times in short succession… 🙈 The below piece sheds a little insight! To put into perspective, if a shop had a supplier of products that continually provided the incorrect order, turned up with just the box and nothing inside or charged you eye-watering amounts of money for a product which entailed non-existent customer service, it is obvious that they/you would not be using that supplier ever again. Unfortunately with construction, there are many “suppliers” you can’t change and are bound by some of the bonkers that go with it. The local Council (planning or otherwise), Government, highways, utilities, UKPN etc. Weather is another! ⛄️ ☀️ Respect to the “lads” who are knocking up pug with anti-freeze in the bucket, putting hessian on the blockwork and trying to get warm for a ten second tea in the site hut this week. 🙉 ❄️👷🏻♀️ I hope it doesn’t dampen your spirits and delay your build too drastically. 🙏🏻 One thing that shouldn’t delay your build is the finance, or fluidity of drawdowns. Please don’t hesitate to get in touch with any development finance enquiries you may have. We are experts on placing you with the right lender to keep your build as smooth and stress free as possible. 💰
