CEO | Bounds Hay Co. | International Hay Exporter | 1 Million + tons shipped | providing sustainable feed solutions around the world
Last week we were shooting on boarding videos. This will allow new employees to watch the process of the job prior to their first day. This does not replace hands on training. We always will still have drivers train with our veteran drivers. This allows for clarity on the specific role the driver will be performing. Most businesses struggle with communication and clarity. This also allows a business to be scalable if you want to grow your business. Work comp. and your insurance rates are based off of CSA scores, claims and your training program. It all goes together. It’s a win for the employees and the company. #jesseboundstrucking #transport #transportation #trucker #logistics #truckdriver #smallbusiness #tenfourcoaching

Global Financial Institutions & Private Equity Broker | Co-founder of LION Specialty | Classical Certified Pilates Instructor
Too funny. Completely unplanned and not discussed. My co-founder Mark Flippen discussing my one word key to success in insurance. It’s the same thing that Kobe Bryant, Nick Saban, and Tom Brady all have in common. A love for PROCESS! 🔥🚀 Tom Brady: You have to believe in your process. You have to believe in the things that you are doing to help the team win. I think you have to take the good with the bad. Kobe Bryant: The mindset isn't about seeking a result – it's more about the process of getting to that result. Nick Saban: The process is about doing things right, all the time, from the start. A good process produces good results. Clients do you have a good process with your brokers? If you’re questioning it, come talk to us! #regionalinsurers #simplifyinginsurance #process #prepareforsuccess #insurancebroker LION Specialty

Arguably one of the best feelings in insurance, other than winning a BOR. Hitting the road to go see a prospect. I've always loved the process. The sales process. It never gets old to me. 430AM start, snowy roads en route to the worst-placed airport in the country (DIA). Swear it's in Kansas, not CO. Construction work out of the wazoo, grumpy people everywhere. Bad airplane coffee. Bring it. LET'S GO GET HIRED (an old Matty Baum sayin! #OG #rainmaker) #InsuranceSalesSuccess #BrokerageGrowth #SalesProcessInnovation

In most businesses it takes a Team to get things done. In mine, without the sales team the customer isn’t found, without the service team the tank doesn’t get set, without the CSR the orders don’t get taken, without the driver fuel doesn’t get delivered, without the accounting team the invoices don’t get paid. Team work is our only way to success ⬆️. #teamworksuccess #team #teamappreciationday

As a broker, one of the best feelings is getting a new lane from a customer and seeing that the receiver is a company you haven’t delivered to for your customer before. You know you are doing a good job for your customers when they start giving you more opportunities on their different accounts. Your performance as a broker doesn’t always reflect back on you in the eyes of the receiver, a lot of times they don’t even know who the broker is, so it reflects back on your shipper. You are an extension of their business, that is why it is so critical to execute day in and day out. Shoutout to anyone who moved a new lane today, you are doing something right! #ShipSentry #WeGuardYourFreight

EMPLOYEES How, When, Who and What is required for you to hire additional drivers How will I hire drivers? I will see the living wage where I live and where the business will be located first. I will not try to hire a driver, I will hire a contractor. I want to sit the paperwork on the table and say what could you do to help to become one in a marriage. I may not know what it is like to be in your shoes as far as your lifestyle expenses. However, I want to know how you could help me to help you. If they want no hassle of looking for freight and a min. distance of traveling looking for freight. If they want to get paid for deadhead mileage. Then I can help you, to help me. That is why I have my own authority. I am going to meet them where they are. If they are not good in bookkeeping for quarterly tax reporting. Then I will consider asking. Do you want to work under my authority and use Verizon Connect and Trucking Office under my user account? I have everything you need to file your taxes quarterly. If they want to work under their own authority. I will ask why you apply for your authority. This way I can meet them where you are going or pursuing to be. When will I hire drivers? I need to be able to have ample amounts of freight or contract agreements to meet my means and their means. I want to offer them a career not a load. I need to know if the house or property next to me is affordable to anyone I sign into my circle. I want to meet their career, not a load to get them by for this month payments. Who will I look to hire as an Owner Operator? I will first talk with ladies in the trucking industry first.

I'm like the middle man between brokers and carriers. Before you assume I double broker, Miler is a software company. Easy, tiger. It has given me the ability to be a fly on the wall and see how they operate and communicate. There are two things that above all else have helped me identify who is doing well in this market and who is not. 1) There are brokers and carriers who operate with a small network. They are respectful of each other and care about the outcome for the other side. Trust is more important than maximizing their margin, and I'll see them give where they need to and have it reciprocated on the next load. I'll see things like: "What's most important on your end for us to focus on?" "Your driver went above and beyond here, I want to make sure he knows he's appreciated." "What can I provide to your team to make this seamless?" "Your effort here is appreciated. What are you preferred lanes? I'll see if I can bring some in." 2) There are brokers and carriers who operate transactionally. They focus only on the rate and know very little about the company they're working with. Likely, they won't work with that company again once a load is delivered. One operates like a happy marriage, the other like Tinder for trucking. I'll let you guess who is doing well and who is struggling. #freight #logistics

Facts! Unless you have it figured out and can help yourself otherwise don't underestimate the value and what's behind the service. A customer asked me how much it cost to do this job.... I answered him: $ 1500 He said: So expensive for this job? I asked: How much do you think it would cost you? He answers me: $ 800 maximum... That's a pretty simple job right? !" - For $ 800 I invite you to do it yourself. - But.... I don't know how to. - For $800 I'll teach you how to. So besides saving you $700, you'll get the knowledge for the next time you want - It seemed right to him and he agreed. - But to get started: you need tools: A welder, grinder, chop saw, drill press, welding hood, gloves etc... - But I don't have all these equipment and I can't buy all of these for one job. - Well then for another $300 more I'll rent my stuff to you so you can do it. - Okay, he says. - Okay! Tuesday I'm waiting for you to start doing this work - But I can't on Tuesday I only have time today. - I'm sorry, but I'm only available Tuesday to teach you and lend you my stuff. Other days are busy with other customers. - Okay! That means I'm going to have to sacrifice my Tuesday, give up my tasks. - I forgot. To do your job yourself, you also have to pay for the nonproductive factors. - That is? What is this?" - Bureaucratic, tax, vat, security, insurance, fuel etc. - Oh no!... But to accomplish these tasks, I'm going to spend more money and waste a lot of time! - Do you have them? You can do it to me before?" - Okay! - I'll make you all the material you need. Truck loading is done Monday evening or Tuesday morning you'll have to come by 6 loading the truck. Don't forget to be on time to avoid traffic jams and be on time - At 6??? Nope! Too early for me! I used to getting up later. ... - You know, I've been thinking. Y ' all better get the job done. I'd rather pay you the $1500. If I had to, it wouldn't be perfect and it would cost me a lot more. When you pay for a job, especially handcrafted, you pay not only for the material used, but also: - Knowledge - Experience - Study - Tools - Services - Time to go - punctuality - Accountability - Professionalism - Accuracy - Guaranteed - Patents - Sacrifices - Safety and security - Payment of tax obligations No one can denigrate other people's work by judging prices. Only by knowing all the elements necessary for the production of a certain work can you estimate the actual cost.
