We are proud to celebrate the 100th anniversary of 680 North Lake Shore Drive. Completed in 1924, the iconic building spans an entire city block in Chicago's Streeterville neighborhood. At the time of its completion, 680 North Lake Shore Drive was the largest building in the world. The 29-story art-deco development was originally named the American Furniture Mart and the building’s two halves were designed separately: the eastern half by Raeder, George C. Nimmons, and Max Dunning; and the western half by Nimmons and Dunning. Over 50 years later, it was transformed from its initial use as a furniture mart into a mixed-use space, now housing 160 residential units, 65,000 square feet of retail space, and 420,000 square feet of office space. Today, 680 North Lake Shore Drive contributes to the charm of the neighborhood, standing as a testament to how classic building design and architecture can coexist with modern skyscrapers. #ChicagoRealEstate #ChicagoHistory #Development #680NorthLakeShoreDrive #Golub
