#Streaming has totally changed the way we enjoy our favorite #shows and #movies, but let's face it, it's also made things a bit complicated. We've got all these different #services and #passwords to keep track of, and it can be a real hassle.
Enter Charter Communications' Spectrum and its new streaming app, #Xumo. While #cabletv has taken a hit from the rise of streaming, Charter recognized an opportunity to bridge the two worlds. Xumo offers live TV alongside popular streaming services like Netflix and #disneyplus , making it a one-stop-shop for #viewers. And with a recent deal with The Walt Disney Company, Charter can even offer some of its TV #subscribers free access to Disney+ and ESPN+.
Sure, Xumo might be fashionably late to the streaming party, but Charter's billing relationship with its customers gives it a secret weapon. As the #media -#analytics guru, TVREV's Alan Wolk, eloquently puts it, #cable companies must become #reaggregators to thrive. And that's precisely what Charter is doing with Xumo. They're positioning themselves as the "independent middleman, without conflicting interests", to simplify the consumer experience and breathe new life into the stagnant #broadband business. The question now is; will that be enough or will it be too little too late?
