"A lot of these people they need light, they need laughter, they need joy, they need a hug, they need a prayer... and so, God called me to do that and that's my heart, to be that for them." After years in sales in Coca-Cola along with facilities jobs in churches, Jerry Kelch, 63, is right where he belongs at Good Samaritan Society – Water Valley Senior Living Resort in Windsor, CO, as a senior maintenance mechanic. Jerry brings joy and a can-do attitude to the senior living resort, often accompanied by his famous "dad jokes." Whether it's replacing a light bulb, fixing a TV or helping a resident with their cell phone, Jerry does it all with a smile on his face because of his love for serving the residents. He even took it upon himself to set up movie and pizza nights for the guys in an effort to get the male resident population out of their rooms and into activities. These are just a few of the reasons why Jerry is being honored as this year's National Ever Forward Employee Champion. Setting up his own surprise without knowing it so the team could keep it a secret, Jerry was celebrated by residents and staff for his achievement. While he's only a year into his role at the Society, many people consider his presence a gift from above: "If there was an angel on this earth, it’s going to be disguised as Jerry. He is just one of the most caring, dedicated men that I’ve ever been around. He has made such a huge difference in so many of our residents’ lives," said Good Samaritan Society VP of operations for Colorado, Kansas and Hawaii, Randy Fitzgerald. 🚒 Meet Alec Bilodeau: The Real-Life Firefighter of Boulons Éclair 🔥 When things heat up at Boulons Éclair, there's one man who can handle the pressure—Alec Bilodeau. By day, he’s our warehouse operator and manufacturing ace, working his magic on everything from anchor assemblies to custom A325 bolts. When people use the services and/or products they are responsible for (in any way, big or small), the customer experience is going to be different and likely better, and in cases like this when folks do direct outreach to users (versus waiting for feedback or complaints to come in), I'd like to believe that the proactiveness in itself acts as a starting mitigation measure.
Chief Communications Officer at BART building an epic narrative through strategic marketing, storytelling, media relations, and executive leadership.
You all know I ride the train five days each week into BART headquarters (and lots with my family on the weekend too!). But on Tuesdays, managers at BART put on our bright blue jackets and ride the train, walk the platforms, and talk to riders and report problems. BART’s General Manager Robert M. Powers, PE launched this initiative one month ago. It is very rewarding to spot an issue and report it the the right person and then get the follow up that it has been fixed! It is also interesting to observe which riders stop and speak to us. I’ve gotten many compliments from riders who have noticed a cleaner, safer BART. Senior citizens especially have gone out of their way to let me know. This picture is of me and Mike Lemon, Assistant Chief Maintenance Officer, running into our community service officers who do parking enforcement but were out riding trains for a few hours.

Their words, their voices. We need to echo their messages for safer roads. A powerful reminder of the fragility of life in this National Road Safety Week. #nationalroadsafety #raa #awareness
Today marks the beginning of National Road Safety Week – a week we commemorate every year at RAA, but a cause that we’re passionate about EVERY DAY. Each day of National Road Safety Week is given a theme – something for us to focus on, problem solve, educate on, or simply reflect and take a moment for. Today’s theme is ‘Remember the 1200’ - to recognise the 1200 people who die on our roads each year in Australia. This is not to mention the 40,000+ who are seriously injured nationwide. In this video series, we speak to a number of people who’ve been injured or lost someone they love on the roads, or even been present on the scene. Mary and Belinda are our first two brave individuals to speak – each telling the heartbreaking story of losing a loved one on our roads. So, let’s remember Mary and Belinda’s loved ones, and all those in South Australia and around the country who’ve lost their lives – as well as their families, friends, colleagues and their first responders on the scene. Let’s work together to change this narrative, South Australia. https://lnkd.in/eU-Fkhvf

This week is National Road Safety week, 5 - 12 May. So what is this week all about? 💐 Remembering the 1200~ people lost on Australian roads each year, and the 40,000+ seriously injured. ⚫️ The Road to Zero: take the pledge to drive so others survive! 🚸Spread the word: pave the way forward and show our next generation the meaning of road safety. 👷🏼♂️Protect those who protect and assist us: let’s acknowledge all the important people who work on our roads and keep Australia moving, from traffic controllers, infrastructure workers, road maintenance crews and our emergency services. 🚗 How safe is my ride?: it’s important to remember to think about safety when choosing a car, and to check how safe your current car is. 📵Drive in the moment and avoid distraction: road safety is a shared responsibility, and it takes each and every one of us to take the utmost care toward ourselves and others on Australian roads. 🚦Share the street: give each other the space needed to be safe, and share the road with cyclists and pedestrians. 🛣️Take care on Regional roads: 44% of serious injuries and two thirds of all road fatalities in NSW occur on country roads. It is our job to make our country roads and our regional communities feel safe. Do your part this year during National Road Safety week! 💪🏻 ℹ️ Visit www.roadsafetyweek.com.au

During the winter months, cats will often seek out any warm space they can find. Unfortunately, common cozy places include underneath a car and a warm car engine which puts their lives at risk. Here are a few actions you can take to avoid these types of catastrophes: 🐱 Keep your cat safe and warm inside 💭 Check on your cat before leaving the house or before leaving for a trip 🚗 Make loud warning sounds before starting your car 📢 Give cats time to escape your car after you’ve made the loud noises 🛌 Provide a safer, alternative cozy spot for cats by setting up a cat bed or box with a blanket If you have a cat emergency, each SAGE Center is open 24/7, 365 (including holidays). #petsafety #cats #SAGECenters
