We love helping charities with recycled tech! It gives us a warm fuzzy feeling when we receive feedback like this 💚 Helping people with underutilised technology is our goal, and donating refurbished devices to charities is one way we can do that. You may think that because you're done with your device it has reached the end of its life. But it doesn't have to be the end. ♻️ Once we've refurbished an item, it can live a second life with someone else. Working closely with charities like Swindon Domestic Abuse Support Service, we're able to pair unwanted devices with people who are in desperate need of them. These items can be a lifeline to the recipients and they truly do make a huge difference in their lives. Just imagine trying to live in today's world without access to the internet... if you can. Let's just say it makes life A LOT harder. Want to help support our tech donations? Get in touch! #CircularEconomy #RefurbishedLaptop #GiveALaptop #TechForGood

Congratulations Dr. Stacie Waites on having her article titled "Teach a Man to Fish: The Use of Autonomous Aid in Eliciting Donations" published! Article Summary: Conventional wisdom says that if you give a person a fish you can feed them for a day, but if you teach them to fish you can feed them for a lifetime. However, most nonprofits tend to describe their work in a more immediate way (giving a fish) instead of how they can help aid recipients work toward autonomy (teaching them to fish). This research explores an alternative positioning strategy focused on the use of autonomous aid appeals, which promote the use of donated funds to facilitate the eventual self-sufficiency of those in need. Working with a regional non-profit we show that this singular change to the non-profit’s messaging increased donations by over 400%. This effect is further investigated in 6 studies, all suggesting the profound effect of autonomous aid messaging over immediate aid messaging in various donation contexts. Hello world! ❤️ This year on the 27th–30th of June I'll be teaming up with 5 other members of our Accenture UKI Resources team and taking part in the UK Challenge 2024. We'll be braving 3 days of running, cycling, and kayaking over some of the most challenging terrain in Dartmoor. We're raising money for the challenge's selected partner, Beefy's Charity Foundation, which helps to fund specific projects relating to chronic illnesses and other life altering challenges that young people face. If you'd like to support us and donate to our cause, please go to: 🔗 https://lnkd.in/ggTKje2f Last year the UK Challenge raised just under £80,000 for the Foundation. This year our team has set a team goal of £2000, which we're hoping to skyrocket past through the help of our friends, family and professional network. Thank you for your generosity and support!🌟🙌 Our Team: Stephanie Wojda, Wakova Carter, Roberto Coraci, Michael Nogas, Ammar Sajjad, Keerthigha VR --- What is the UK Challenge? --- The UK Challenge is the world's leading corporate team building event, with over 90 teams competing in both physical and mental stages across three days in the British countryside. Teams will decide their own strategy on which routes to take, which obstacles to face, and how best to utilise the team. Over the years, the UK Challenge has raised over £5 million for charity causes. 🔗https://lnkd.in/gjw9Zskv --- Who is Beefy's Charity Foundation? --- Beefy's Charity Foundation helps to fund specific projects relating to chronic illnesses and other challenges that young people face. These are serious issues, but we like to raise money by having a lot of fun and working closely with our charities and supporters. We raise awareness and vital funds from a series of high-profile events (and additional donations) and really appreciate your interest and any support you would like to offer. 🔗https://lnkd.in/g4x5NPVk We support a range of carefully selected projects by issuing grants, and we thank you for helping to make a big difference. 🌟 Vision for Santiago Calheta: A Call to Action for Prescription Glasses Donation 🌟 In the heart of Cabo Verde, the Santiago Calheta community awaits a gift of clear vision. Foundation for Fogo is on a mission to collect 25 prescriptions to deliver glasses to those in need, illuminating lives and opening doors to new possibilities. Why Glasses? Vision is more than just seeing clearly; it’s about learning, working, and experiencing life in its full vibrancy. Yet, for many in Santiago Calheta, this basic need remains out of reach due to accessibility and affordability challenges. How Can You Help? • Donate: Every pair of glasses can change a life. Whether it’s funding a prescription or donating gently used glasses, your contribution can make a difference. • Spread the Word: Share our mission with your network. The more people know, the greater our collective impact. • Volunteer: Join us in our efforts on the ground. Your time and skills can help us reach our goal faster and more efficiently. Impact Beyond Sight: By providing glasses, we’re not just correcting vision. We’re empowering individuals to pursue education, work, and daily activities with confidence. Each pair of glasses is a step towards a brighter, more inclusive future for everyone in Santiago Calheta. Let’s come together to give the gift of vision. With your support, we can meet our goal and transform lives, one pair of glasses at a time. 💖 Foundationforfogo.org #FoundationForFogo #VisionForAll #CommunityImpact #CaboVerde

Every year, Redgate Software generously donates old laptops and PCs to charities and schools, providing crucial equipment amidst budget constraints. This raises a vital question: how many UK organizations follow suit, or do many machines end up in recycling instead? The fate of equipment in local authorities, hospitals, and police remains uncertain. How much equipment could those groups alone donate? What does local government do with equipment at the end of its life? Imagine the impact if more organisation’s joined a charter to donate such equipment, echoing Redgate's (and what others may be doing already privately) initiative. Do you practice similar charitable acts like Redgate, or do you have a different approach? I'm curious to learn more. Could a collective effort to donate equipment benefit those in need even more? What would it take for more groups to openly explore this and agree to donate equipment to those who probably need it more than the landfill does? #esg #redgate
