#dingoes #cull #slaughter #wildlife #unprotected #laws #rights #animalrights #extinction #kill #cultureofdeath #livestock #anthropocentrism #humanocentrism #God #life #love #reverenceforlife #loveofJesus My dear friends, we have traversed this ground previously, but as with most sojourns into the realm of human villainy, each such journey appears to be an unproductive loop, concluding right where we commenced; namely, human arrogance and ignorance. The curt petition infra is no different. It is the same old song: torture and annihilation of God's creatures occasioned by one group of hominins, while another spews forth hackneyed and erroneous critiques of the injurious deportment. Well, this piece does supply some points of instruction, so let's parse and examine the constituent elements. By altering their legal status from "protected" to "unprotected", a governmental body down under has decreed a licit right for humans to kill dingoes by "...trapping, poisoning, or shooting." These creatures allegedly pose a threat to livestock and in so doing merit the death penalty and attendant pain and agony meted out to them. Human perfidy writ large! In order to secure and protect our investment in one species of God's creation, a species we breed, restrain, immure, torture, slaughter, and then ingest to stuff our bloated bellies, we rain down death and destruction on another species. This despicable act must give the lie to those humans averring that all that is needed to save God's creation is the passage of additional rights. By dint of this horrific human order the value of any animal "right" is revealed for the ephemeral, mutable, flaccid, inutile protection it truly affords. If that isn't sufficient perfidious behavior, the arguments lodged contra that behavior are of equal speciousness: to wit, "...the ecological and cultural importance of dingoes." So, absent a perceived utility towards ecology or the cultural rituals of some Homo sapiens troop, the worth of dingoes is markedly abridged. It won't do. A reverence for life asseverates that all life is possessed of inborn worth and value, that no life may be downgraded in estimation to a mere means to some human end, that our sacred duty as mankind is the stewardship of nature, of all life, of all God's creatures. May we revere life simply because it exists. May we see the Creator in every being that shares this planet with us. May we walk this earth doling out mercy and compassion, not suffering and death. That is conferring the love of Jesus universally. That is a reverence for life. Cum meo maximo amore!

Captive CON$ervation Exposed: “Conservation Advocacy or Marketing Smokescreen?: An In-Depth Review of the Financial Records of the AZA Accredited Indianapolis Zoo As a Means of Evaluating the Zoo’s Claim That It Supports Wildlife Animal Conservation.” By Rebecca Critser, LLM, JD, M. Bioethics Indiana law Review: January 24, 2024 “While the Zoo demonstrates a general support for conservation, it is not clear that conservation is truly its primary focus. First, over a ten-year period between 2009 and 2019, the Zoo spent on average 1.04% of its budget on conservation. This falls short of recommendations that go as high as 10%. The total amount of funds provided to conservation work is also less than the salary of the Zoo’s CEO ($370,282 in 2019). Consequently, the Zoo’s finances indicate support of the CEO is of higher priority than the support of conservation. Although this is only one zoo, the evidence presented here for this zoo warrants an investigation into other zoos. Because the AZA requires accredited organizations to make conservation a focus, it is likely that other zoos will have made conservation one of their key talking points. The question remains, however, whether their work or financial contributions can support that claim. This review leaves one wondering, if the Zoo is not supporting conservation, then what is it supporting?“ Complete Story: https://lnkd.in/gCRDsUy4 #captiveconservation #IndianapolisZoo #weareaza #AZA #TheConservationGameMovie

The words "terror" and "mercy" describe the two competing methods of conservation vying for legitimacy in the fields of science and the court of public opinion: traditional conservation and compassionate conservation. The tools of traditional conservation are indeed terrible - hunting, bounties, introduction of viruses and disease, poisoning, trapping, and ripping. Today’s Animal Politics explains my understanding of compassionate conservation.

Wildlife trafficking is the fourth-largest organised crime globally, worth over $450 billion a year, according to the Wildlife Crime Research Hub. It's estimated thousands of Australian species are being traded internationally, with cockatoos and lizards particularly popular. Australian scientists have created tools to detect and trace wildlife being smuggled out of, and brought into, the country. #wildlifeweekend #hfnef #wildlifeandanimals #wildlife #animals #animalsandwildlife #wildlifecrime #wildlifetrafficking #banwildlifetrafficking #wildlifetrade #banwildlifetrade #australianwildlife #australia

Culling/removal of invasive species is usually encouraged when it comes to plants, some fish (e.g. Lionfish), boa constrictors in the FL Everglades, and invertebrates like Zebra mussels. Therefore, it's understandable that the US Fish and Wildlife Service would make a proposal that a similar approach is used for the owls. However, I'm not sure how successful the strategy would be for this issue, or what feasible alternative solutions animal rights groups are proposing, beyond just objecting to the Fish & Wildlife plan. ://https://lnkd.in/g7DtsGNF

#humanocentric #anthropocentrism #zoos #gawkers #humanperfidy #accountability #stewardship #life #love #reverenceforlife #loveofJesus My dear friends, the quest to bring the ethos of a reverence for life to the world reminds me of climbing a mountain. It is a circuitous, tortuous trail, and just when you believe you are nearing the summit, your gaze reveals yet more peregrination and elevation await you. But I shall endure and conquer, despite the many obstacles encountered on the ascension. An example of one such obstacle is the petition infra, an unwelcome reminder that I regrettably have an unfathomable distance to scale and numerous impediments to overcome before planting the banner of the universal love of Jesus on the acme of existence. The piece decries the alleged poor treatment of animals by a wildlife photography farm located in the lovely and rather isolated US state of Montana. You may peruse the sophomoric drivel at your leisure, but here is a sample of the scribbling: “It seems like most animals at [the farm] are subjected to a life of confinement and exploitation. This game farm has a history of serious animal welfare violations, including keeping animals in cramped, filthy conditions, using them for breeding with little regard for their well-being, and then discarding them like disposable objects. These practices are not only unethical but also a blatant violation of the trust placed in institutions meant to protect wildlife.” The foregoing is naught but wasted invective directed at an insignificant player in the grand scheme of human degeneracy towards God's handiwork. What do we discern? Two things. 1. Let us cease this mindless excoriation of one-off entities, raising everyone’s hackles over discrete, disconnected maleficent human behavior. 2. Let us unite in a collected, connected effort to promulgate a reverence for life across the board, to all people everywhere. My dear friends, a reverence for life is a life affirming ethos averring that all life has worth and value, that no life may be downgraded to a mere means to some human end, that mankind is under a sacred duty to serve as stewards of God’s creature, all His creatures. That stewardship is best implemented, that duty best discharged by our affording the rest of earth’s denizens the opportunity to live as God (nature if you must) intended, free from human confinement and exploitation. Beings must be permitted to exist according to their proclivities and predilections, not ours. That is the message, pure and simple, that must be conveyed to every member of our species. Let us instruct all rather than denigrate a few. Let us use our time wisely, seeking to acquaint all with the ethos of mercy and compassion for all life, not squandering precious resources rousing a jacquerie to pillory a lone malefactor. That is bestowing the love of Jesus universally. That is the answer to these emporia of cruelty. Cum meo maximo amore!
