On the 6th day of the Ad-vent calendar, Good Giant gave to me… streaming freedom, totally free. 👀 Tubi’s Free for Everyone campaign nails the art of standing out by leaning into what makes it unique: zero fees, zero subscriptions, and all the content you could want. It’s a bold, no-frills message backed by captivating creative that makes you stop, look, and listen. Proving that sometimes the simplest ideas are the most powerful.

Have you noticed the surge in streaming service prices before major events like the The Tyson Fight? 👀 This strategy leverages increased viewer engagement and their willingness to pay for exclusive live content. While this approach boosts short-term revenue significantly, it also sets the stage for a wave of cancellations, as many subscribers sign up to catch the event and intend to unsubscribe right after. Looking for ways to keep your subscribers even after the buzz of major events dies down? Seen some discourse and discussion on streaming giants teaming up and essentially creating “cable 2.0” In essence - yeah that’s kinda true. BUT that’s not the whole story. Cable never afforded true “watch what you want on demand” For advertisers: you never had a more targeted approach to reaching your ICP through cable. You had an idea of who was watching but couldn’t use 1st party data segments to make sure you were reaching exactly who you want when you want. That’s the big difference between all these streaming giants coming together and why it matters in the long run. It’s created more relevancy for the ads you see to your life. I for one am okay with that trade off. I love seeing products or services that are applicable to my life as opposed to seeing a mesothelioma ad. *note: take what I say with a grain of salt because I sell these streaming services to pay rent* :-)

Anyone else guilty of subscribing to every streaming service imaginable and forgetting to cancel? 🙋♀️ How do you choose between a new season of Bridgerton, Ted Lasso, and The Bear? 😅 While there's a wide range of apps out there that can help track this, I find a very simple way of managing subscriptions is to set reminders just before the renewal date and decide at that time if they are still needed. This can help avoid surprise charges for services you aren't currently using. If you don't use it, let's lose it. #FinanceTipTuesday
