Switching to a heat pump water heater can significantly cut energy costs while benefiting the environment. - 🌡️ Heat transfer technology: Instead of creating heat, heat pumps move it from one place to another, making them 3-4 times more efficient than traditional heaters. - 💸 Big savings: Homeowners could save between $400-$600 annually, with even more potential savings in areas with higher utility costs. - 🌍 Cleaner energy: Greater efficiency means less electricity use, leading to lower greenhouse gas emissions and available tax credits up to $2,000. - 🏆 Smart features: Many models include Wi-Fi connectivity, leak detection, and 10-year warranties, offering long-term benefits and convenience. #EnergySavings #Sustainability #HomeImprovement - 🔌 Rebates & incentives: Federal and local utility programs offer rebates from $300 to $4,000 for switching to heat pumps. - 🏡 Future-proof your home: Ideal for those replacing old water heaters or building new homes, with tools available to choose the right model for your needs. - 🔒 Enhanced security: Some advanced models include automatic water shutoff systems for leak detection, minimizing water damage risks.

January 10 marks National Cut Your Energy Costs Day, and I've got your personal cheat sheet with five strategies to conserve energy and elbow those extra costs out of your monthly bill: 1) Consider time-of-use rates. Learn about your utility's time-of-use rates, which vary depending on the time of day. Strategically plan your energy use to save money. You can find these rates on your energy bill or the utility's website. 2) Leverage smart home plugs and thermostats. Combat standby power consumption (up to 10% of your energy use) with smart switches for appliances and programmable thermostats. Schedule when they turn on and off efficiently. 3) Adjust the water heater temperature. The U.S. Department of Energy says lowering your water heater temperature by 20 degrees can save 4% - 22% annually. 4) Efficient water heating. Water heating is the second-largest home expense, averaging $400 - $600 yearly. Consider a $150 water heater smart controller to heat water only when needed (potentially saving 10% - 30%) and insulate your water heater to cut heat loss (saving 7% - 16%). 5) Monitor specific energy usage. Make sense of rising bills by tracking energy usage and setting custom alerts. Knowing where your energy goes is the first step to making meaningful changes. As heat waves, storms, and wildfires increasingly threaten our electrical grids, the sole reliance on fossil fuel generators is proving more harmful than helpful. While traditional fossil fuel generators can be valuable during outages, #solar + #batterystorage technology provides clean, reliable power that backs up your home during blackouts and reduces utility costs year-round. It’s time to rethink our approach to backup power and invest in #sustainable solutions that benefit both our wallets and the planet. While electricity costs, living expenses, and power outages seem to be on the rise, homeowners can take control with Sunnova Energy’s SunSafe® solar and battery storage service to benefit from uninterrupted power and reduce reliance on the power #grid.
