The new Library Metro underground railway station adjacent to Melbourne Central is expected to significantly boost footfall traffic, and Melbourne Central is anticipated to soon welcome over 50 million annual visitors. Winning against 90 registrations globally, my original plan for Melbourne Central has transformed it into a thriving retail and tourism destination. It has achieved Australia's highest retail sales per sqm and attracts world-renowned retailers like its Australian Flagship, Sephora, which recently increased its store space by 100%. Through our successful bid consortia efforts, which I initiated, and with my proven "Placemaker" skills, the Melbourne Central precinct has become Australia's largest urban renewal project, attracting over $9 billion in new investments since its opening. By the end of this year, around 40 million people will have walked through Melbourne Central, which has become Australia's first successful CBD retail and tourism destination project integrated with railway infrastructure and light railway infrastructure projects in Australia 2024. Australia's "Big Gun" CBD retail tourism destination, Melbourne Central, which has Australia's highest retail sales, is thriving and 100% fully leased.
