Today is world suicide prevention day. There is an estimated 700,000 suicides per year worldwide. The impact the loss of one life has is profound, the impact of 700,000 is incomprehensible. We can make an impact #StartTheConversation #StopSuicide
Please consider donating to support the AFSP in raising awareness around suicide to save lives and bring hope to those affected by suicide. If you're local to the capital region, join us in walking on 9/22 at Saratoga State Park!
Please support the Capital Region Walk for R.I.T.A. this fall to help #stopsuicide

Hey everyone! We've raised a big heap of funds so far, and thank you to everyone who has made it possible. But I'm hoping we can raise even more! ***For today only*** all donations to the run are being matched! Make your contributions go the extra mile (wink) and donate today. If you are not in a position to help monetarily today, I'd appreciate if you could share this post with others to help spread the word. No need to donate via my link, direct donations to Fred Hollows are also possible (but not sure if these are being matched). Why donate to Fred Hollows? To put it very briefly, could you do your job with a vision impairment or blindness? Could you support your family, or would they be supporting you? Blindness can take away everything from those affected, but you can help bring it back! Many instances of blindness are treatable. More info can be found on the Fred Hollows website. https://lnkd.in/gDjUFZre

Outspoken Psychologist. Data-Driven DEI Advisor. I help organizations become anti-racist using research-backed methodologies. I also support BIPOC in professional spaces.
You might have seen me post about the 8-month program Saamiya and I are launching in late August to help BIPOC heal from racial trauma and find their voice. Until Thursday, we are donating all of our class proceeds to families escaping G@z@. Our goal is to raise $4,500 but we would love to raise more. So far, one person has committed. What will you get for your donation? You can either pay for your own spot in the program or pay it forward for someone else who needs financial support. We will then donate 100% of your funds to families escaping G*aza, picking from campaigns highlighted in Operation Olive Branch. (If you are the donor, we will send you the receipts). Why donate? Because not only will you be donating to families trying to survive a g*noc1d3, you will also be contributing to your (or someone else’s) racial healing. Why are Saamiya and I doing this? Well, we want to raise awareness about the dire situation in G*za, where horrific m@assacres are occurring every day and do our part to help. It’s been really hard for us to grapple with the fact that the g*nocid3 still continues with no signs of stopping. You can read more about the class here. At the sign-up link, you can indicate whether you are signing up for yourself or for someone else. https://lnkd.in/gJbf5cKA If you want more info before donating, attend our free class demo this Wednesday at 12pm CT! It also serves as a standalone workshop on racial healing: https://lnkd.in/gVdUHc7q

As I watched the funerals of the 12 innocent kids murdered by Hezbollah, I felt overwhelmed by helplessness and sorrow. These children were playing soccer when their lives were tragically cut short. We need to do something, so we've launched a fundraising campaign to support the victims' families. They've lost so much, and we can help by showing them they're not alone. Every donation will be divided among those affected, providing some relief in their unimaginable grief. Please donate today here: https://lnkd.in/dEBFKqHW

I’ve just got home from the board meeting of Widows and Widowers Ministering Angels. I’ve been appointed Chair of the Endowment Committee. Jennie Taylor is the Vice-Chair. If you would like to donate money to needy widows where just the interest on your donation is used annually, let me know. It doesn’t have to be a lot of money. At 5% a year, $5,000 can provide $250 per year each and every year going forward. $25,000 creates $1,250 per year. You can even commit to a yearly contribution until you get enough money endowed to help in the way you desire. Maybe it’s Christmas presents for kids or a trip for the family or rent or car repairs. But creating an endowment now means you can help someone every year in perpetuity. It’s as simple as messaging me on Linked-In to get the details. wwministeringangels.org
